Upside/down,
There is a way to view the article. Go to http://www.aspendailynews.com Click Search Articles . Type in Jehovah's Witnesses and it should take you to the story "Men admit wrongdoing after menorah vandalism." Click and voila! And give us your feedback.
Does anyone have the 2 dubs email address? I would like to contribute to their JC defense legal fund.
Got it!
Funny how the article starts with "JW's" and ends with their religion had nothing to do with it. Hmmmm So are the Dubs now actively persecuting those that celebrate Christmas? So much for neutrality and love of neighbor. This religion is a joke- I'm ashamed I was ever in the fold.
To funny... "I think we'll catch hell for this".
To be a fly on the wall at that JC....

Men admit wrongdoing after menorah vandalism
By Troy Hooper/Aspen Daily News Staff Writer
Two of three Jehovah's Witnesses accused of vandalizing a menorah erected in Paepcke Park last month pleaded guilty to criminal mischief Tuesday.
Nathan Goad, 29, and Richard Kemp, 26, entered their pleas in Pitkin County District Court. They agreed to pay a $50 penalty for the criminal mischief charge, plus court fees and victim compensation, bringing their total court cost to $209 each. Goad and Kemp were also sentenced to two years of probation.
Levi Bones did not enter a plea. He faces the judge Feb. 8.
Police caught the men after they were accused of destroying a 9-foot-tall menorah in Paepcke Park. The menorah belonged to Rabbi Mendel Mintz of the Jewish Community Center Chabad of Aspen. He valued the giant candelabrum at about $900.
The menorah was damaged Dec. 13, two days before Hanukkah came to an end. The men said they thought the Jewish symbol was a broken Christmas ornament.
"We didn't know what it was. We thought it was a broken holiday fixture," Goad, a resident of Basalt, said in an interview after his arrest. "We assumed it was broken because some of the lights were out."
As part of Jewish tradition, the branches on the candelabrum, which required a city permit for it to be placed in Paepcke Park, are lit during the eight days of Hanukkah. Thus, the menorah was never "a broken holiday fixture."
A witness saw the vandalism and called Aspen police, who alerted the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office and Snowmass Police Department with a description of the suspects' blue pickup truck. A Snowmass Village police officer collared the men hours later after spotting the truck driving on Highway 82 near Brush Creek Road.
"We're going to catch hell for this," Goad said after his arrest. "That was pretty dumb."
The city of Aspen's parks department repaired the menorah and put it back in place at Paepcke Park. Aspen detectives said alcohol was involved in the incident, but the religious backgrounds of the men are not believed to have been a factor.
"We didn't know what it was. We thought it was a broken holiday fixture," Goad, a resident of Basalt, said in an interview after his arrest. "We assumed it was broken because some of the lights were out."
how stupid do you have to be to not recognize a Menorah? and to understand why some candles are not lit? i'm not Jewish, but even as a witness, i knew what a Menorah was, and i was only a kid! broken christmas decoration? duh... these were grown men, not boys. ugh... why don't they just own what they did instead of trying to wriggle out of it by pleading ignorance... 's...!!!
