I drove down to my sister's yesterday, and enjoyed a day riding around on a motorbike, today. Temperature's a balmy 80*F (about 26*C).
For those who PM'ed me, thanks for your concern but I'm completely the opposite end of the country from the London bombing, and so quite safe. I passed quite a Police presence all along the route, though, especially as I drove past the main thoroughfares to the G8 summit.
I heard about the bombing on the radio, as I drove. A very glum day indeed, though things go on as usual in a country that has had prolonged and first hand knowledge of war and terrorism

I fly down to Bristol tomorrow morning, where Gadget is now picking me up from the airport (thanks pal), and so go nowhere near the capital.

We had a pre-fest chilli in the garden. Some early arrivals included Kent, May-Britt, Jst2laws, Joyzabel, Celia & son, Hiflygirl and Funky Derek. Ineveritably, we all finished up down the pub where, one by one, all the trans-Atlantic fliers surrendered to the arms of Morpheus.
The last I saw of anyone was Kent ordering yet another beer, a Hobgoblin, well after closing time.
Interestingly, our normally somewhat staid pub landlady asked Kent if he wanted to be Hobgobbled.
