I didn't find the game too exciting, but at least the Patriots won!
Half time show was fantastic. Would rather watch that any day than Janet Jackson or Timberlake.
Try playing in a few good American football games. I think you'll have new insight into why so many enjoy the game. If you've never played it, or been to a good highschool or college game, you won't really understand how much fun it is. If you'd grown up here, Simon, being a sports lover, you know you'd probably love American football, baseball and basketball. It's what you are accustomed to that you tend to enjoy.
Hey I am a Pats fan, and I thought it was a great game! It wasn't a nail biter, no, but it was a great game between two very equally talent teams. If you were a real NFL fan and followed the sport through the season, then you would know what the Eagles and Pats are can do. The last few minutes were exciting to me because the Eagles were very capable of coming back and gettting the points they need to tie or even for a win.
I don't have much use for the stuff that happens before the game starts...the commercials this year weren't so great...Paul was pretty good though. yeah, he is that Wings guy ain't he? heehee
I don't think if you really are into a sport you will get much out of the games. I like to watch NASCAR races, but some one who isn't into racing would probably think it is pretty boring watching cars go round and round...but once you get to a point where you understand it, it is exciting.
Now cricket...there is a game I will never get into...eeek...but hey to each its own. I do wish we had some national rugby team here...I don't understand that sport too much either, but it is like watching football players in shorts. That's kind of fun.
It is nice that New England has finally redeemed itself...It is now time for the Bruins and Celts to pick up the pace and get with the program!!!
=)
I say, American Football is sooooooo booooring. I mean, to get through 12 minutes of playtime, it takes a half hour. Let us all turn our attention to the real Football , or at least the CFL (not as boring). However, hockey is still out of the question .
Simon!
The last minutes of the game were great! Fess up, man, it started slow (Defense wins championships), but a nice finish!

Oh, c'mon dude! You've got to be kidding!!!!!
The Eagles played like high-schoolers that last 3 minutes; their entire coaching staff should be fired on the spot, without pensions.
The Patriots didn't win that game--the Eagles gave it to them.
But...both franchises are each worth several hundred more millions of dollars than their owners paid for them.
All is well in sports and oil and capitalism.
I decided to spend my time on more exciting things ... organising my CDs into alphabetical order was on the cards but lost out to the exciting "going to bed".
One day, America will wake up and get in step with the rest of the world and (attempt to) play the games that everyone else loves.
Wait till you see a beautiful game of non-stop action without adverts every 10 seconds (maybe it's an attention span thing?) ... there's no going back.
Hmmmmmmm, interesting comments. Well, as a professional and a competitive player, it was a nail biter. Your entitled to disagree, but have you been in the shoes of being a professional sports player?
Yes, I took the Pats, and in the early stages I thought they were going to lose. The needless penalities almost did them in. No one mentioned about Tom Brady's grandmother died, you mean, that wasn't a little factor in his mental game?
Why the Eagles wasted precious last minutes of this Super Bowl is a mystery, it was a no, no. I think this will be something for them to think about, then again, they haven't been to the Super Bowl since when?
Anyways, its over and the New season will begin at spring training. The winners will relish the victory. It's a game of chances and strategizing.
There's always Super Bowl 40 folks.

Am I right in thinking you have a world series in the US but it is only teams from the US that play in it? I don't think it is American football though.
Sorry if it seems a dumb ass observation

Well done the Pats whoever you are.
