I was speaking of the people. Those who have been deceived. I don't think that all the honest people who truly have faith and beliefs would lose that if they found out for sure that they were being deceived by the GB. I honestly think that those people would keep their faith and beliefs. Sure a lot of things would change in their lives, but I don't believe for one single second that the people would just fall away from their faith.

RescueMe: Quite honestly I think that there are many reasons for deceiving others.
Point taken and very well stated. I see where my post made it seem like there were only two possibilities.
I was raising the question of motives more than trying to answer it. You raised some very valid possibilities. I think it is worth discussing. I will try to be more careful next time.

Thank you for that clarification. What if they could deprogramed from the bible faith as well,,do you think that could happen rather swiftly?

Honesty
It has to be more than just moral bankruptcy. It appears to be extreme evil. One day they will individually have to answer to a higher court for their false doctrines and exploitation of the human race.

LOL, actually I didn't see it that way at all, I was simply expressing my own thoughts as to what I feel some reasons could be why this happens.

If someone could be "deprogrammed" from the bible faith swiftly, then I don't think that they had a very deep faith in it to begin with. I don't think any kind of deprogramming can take place quickly, just as I don't think that programming people can happen quickly either. There are many factors that have to be considered for either to happen, and it will vary from person to person. People are all different and react to things differently. I think that there are some who would never accept it if the GB came out and stated flat out that they had been deceiving people all along. Some people would say...'ah..I knew it all along', while others may well never accept it, and come up excuses for such a statement, such as 'they were forced to do it for one reason or another'.

Based on stuff in Ray's book and just thinking it through myself (in other words, I have no proof and you have no reason to buy it) I think the GB believes that they are building the modern day ark, like Noah's. And like that ark, it is the only way to survive the coming "deluge". Maybe you didn't like the curtains Noah picked out for the window, or thought you'd rather be cleaning up after the koala's than the elephants, but you're on the one ark. Stay in or get out, those are your only two choices, life or death.
Just like a parent may lie to their kids ("Make that face and someday it'll stay that way!") to "trick" them into doing the right thing, the GB may be lying/concealing the truth/avoiding admissions so as to keep the "family" on the ark. It could all be truly sincere, though they'd have to be seriously screwing with their own heads in order to sleep at night.
(I don't advocate lying to your kids to change their behavior, by the way.)
