I don't think anyone on the GB is. But I wouldn't be surprised if one or a few individuals in the Legal/Accounting Department were.

A lot of those folks have access to information which exposes the WTS for what it is.

Working as an advocate of the devil makes you cynical and with all this money flowing from different countries the temptation may be strong.

    Pole,

I think you may be right i know a brother Bob Call who is in San Diego i think presently. He worked in accounting his father was a CO in a central american country that the brothers cohabited with sister and were not married,, anyway he was privy to sensitive info it would be nice if he became an apostate or the IRS questioned him.

If the GB where ever arrested, for anything, the Dubs would not believe they had done anything wrong

They would put there hands over their ears shouting " its all lies"

Or they would interpret it as the second/third fulfillment of the 1918 cleansing.

But what it where all in the national and world news that some members of the higher ups was caught stashing money in foreign banks. Just suppose that happened it would mean a tremenous blow to the wt organization. Many christians would be set free.

It's well known that most Circuit and District Overseers receive cash from individual and congregational donations. These payments can amount to $500 a week in more affluent areas, and is not untypical for many areas of the U.S. Because these men take vows of poverty, they can't report the donations to the IRS as income -- otherwise they'd lose their tax status and be viewed by the IRS as paid clergy. So most of these guys are violating U.S. tax law. I have no doubt at all that top Watchtower officials do the same.

Personally, after having been in that group... I can tell you 'what would they think?'...

Due to the 'brainwashing'... most would chalk it up to 'persecution' - 'time of the end' - 'foretold in Revelation'... etc, that they have been primed with throughout the years.

Oh... there might be a few - who know - who would quietly slip away - and become 'apostate'.

But I believe the vast majority would remain 'faithful' - and brainwashed.

    Regards,
