Go back.....You'll find out soon enough if they were right.
Smoky, The fact that you and many other individuals who recently saw the real "truth" about the cult that calls itself the "truth" are insecure in your decisions to leave the cult permanently is compelling evidence of the skill of the Watchtower and its minions in brainwashing well-intentioned people, as well as in instilling paranoias and auto-responses designed to diminish or destroy cognitive capabilities. No one here can give you the backbone you need. You need to reach within to get the strength to break free permanently. Good luck to you!
Then how do I expalin my sitch?
My life was sh*tty and getting sh*ttier by the day for 20 year!
Left the bOrg and it gets better every day... Yeah I was told that was because Satan was "blessing" me. They change it to whatever fits.
I thought J didn't "make" anyone worship him especially with fear of reprisal, that was the deeemunz that did that!
u/d (think!)
the whole "faith and works" issue
Ask them what they did for the great crowd of tsunami victims and I think it should be clear to you that Witnesses don't have a clue about faith and works. Ever see the Witnesses do charity work for the community they live in and bother every Saturday morning? Nope, they sure don't. As a corporate entity they have millions of dollars they could use to help people, but their version of works is simple peddling magazines. Rather convienient way out of loving thy neighbor eh?
Sincerely,
District Overbeer
You should go back.
sometimes everything's going bad and we don't know why...
but then, everything returns going right...
everyone of us has difficults periods in his life. but don't forget we're here!!and we'll be there for you wathever happens, and we'll support you!
get strong!!
Well, i did not expect such a response, and so strong of an opinion (dh).
I thank you all and appreciate your advise.
I will continue to research for my self any doubt i may have, and at the same time try to find myself
You coulld say i am unstable since my divorce 08/03, battaling depression, alcoholism, low self esteem, self loathing, and occasional suicide. So of course, going back seems like a quick fix.
But i know better, i just need to find the courage to move forward.
thanks again
smokey
Smoky just remember one thing , once you start going back they will be on you if you decide to leave and that will only put more pressure on you.
Anyhow, It got me thinking about going back...especially when things are not going to well for me right now... (he said its because I LEFT Jehovah).
I'll give you the bottom line. My husband left the JW's when he was 19 years old. For the last 8 years outside of the organization my husband's life has gone GREAT! He is happily married, has two beautiful children, has a great job, lots of friends, etc. Nothing traumatic or even particularly bad has happened in the last 8 years - life has been good to him, God has been good to him.
You left "Jehovah's organization" (and I use that term lightly). If your life isn't going so well, you need to look elsewhere (honestly, within yourself) for reasons - because I don't believe it has anything to do with leaving the WTS.
Remember ... (Jehovah) God promises he will never leave or forsake you.
For he has said: ?I will by no means leave you nor by any means forsake you.? So that we may be of good courage and say: ?Jehovah is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?? (Hebrews 13:5,6)
By no means will God leave or forsake you. That verse does not say, "I will by no means leave you nor by any means forsake you, unless of course you leave my "earthly organization". Something to keep in mind.
Sounds like counseling would serve you well. Being a JW cannot fix the problems that are making you so unhappy, that's your job.
