What is the GB tellin us?

I?ve been reading some posts about the future of the whole Governing Body and FDS doctrines and have come to notice something.
It seems like recently the literature has been focusing more on personal bible reading and understanding. Oh they still spew crap about how great the publications of the FDS are, but I notice a little bit of a trend away from that. For example: The bible reading highlights on the school. The friends are encouraged to meditate on the context and meaning of the verses. I?d say 90% of the comments at our hall don?t come directly from research done in the publications, but more like how the verses made them feel.

Another example is like tonight?s book study. This paragraph taken by itself (or even the whole chapter) left the FDS out of the loop of bible understanding.

By means of the preaching work, which reaches us individually, and by means of his holy spirit, which Jehovah uses to help us grasp and apply spiritual truths despite our limitations and imperfections. Jehovah can therefore say of us as he said of Israel: ?With a love to time indefinite I have loved you. That is why I have drawn you with loving-kindness.??Jeremiah 31:3.

Is this a mixed signal? Or does it really say you only need Holy Spirit to grasp spiritual truths?

What do you guys think? A trend away from dependence on an almost extinct GB? More proof of a schism at the WTS? Or maybe just keep people so confused they don?t really know what to do?

They basically teach that no one can get to Jesus and God except through them.

THere are a number of trends right now - and I think change is on the way - how rapidly iot wil lcome I do not know - but it will not result in loss of power or prestige for the GB -but yes small signals are there

Thorough all the drumming and repeating of their interpretations through the years given by the GB, the rank and file will still give the same ole answers and the upper GB will hear what they are looking for, with someone (the rank & file) else to take the blame now when the idea is proved wrong.

I don't see any backing off here because these verse need to be read through a indoctrinated JWs mind control and then the message is still very clear Jehovah has drawn you to us by holy spirit and equates it with love (uck) At least that's the way many JW would read it since the WT has for years always equated themselves to either jesus or jehovah.

no, the confusion is the result of "all of the above"

raise your head the end of the fds is around the corner, but jw wont notice it, actually there is no corner but very wide curve taking the jw into another direction... leading who knows where.

Gawd I wish sooner rather than later. Its getting harder to go to meetings and look happy bout being there.

Im starting to think though that it wouldnt matter how damning the evidence is. A lot would still hold on.

They will always find new people to fill in the empty spaces in the GB when they start dying off. I actually once saw an old chart that showed the hierarchy, it was like:

etc... I probably missed something.
