If you were deleted as an elder or as a ministerial servant

Thanks IP_SEC. Seeing the word officially in print reminds me how "lovingly" the JW writers express themselves!

I knew of an elder that was asked to step down because he gave a talk at a funeral that they sang a "worldly" hymn. The elder said it was his decision but I think he got pressure from the other elders because he didn't always see eye to eye with the rest of the elder's in that congregation. So I think that the hard line elders will weed out those ones that that may not go along with everything the other elders say.

Holy crap really? I gave a funeral once then at the graveside I did the little witness grave side service and then a catholic priest did his little cerimony thing. No one said a word. There were a lot of catholics and jws at the funeral and everyone was happy.

I was always taught -------- be a member of the army corps of engineers and not the marines - - - try and work out what I mean - I will tell you in a later post - if you can not

The story I heard was that this elder knew ahead of time that someone was going to sing a "pagan" hymn. I think they were trying to find a reason to delete this elder and this was a good reason. Maybe another elder would have only got private reproof but its always who you know that counts.

It's easier to understand how, even when there are some basically merciful and compassionate elders, they'll be "squeezed" to conform with the Watchtower hardline. I know this is not a new thing, but it underscores how loving qualities are no match for hardline qualities.

It must be so hard to serve as an elder and to observe the hardline responses of the others, yet to still feel basic compassion for the "wrongdoers". Let's face it, the JW definition of wrongdoing is very, very encompassing. E.g., giving a talk at a venue where a worldly hymm has just been sung.

Such loving provisions supplied by the FDS....NOT

Decreasing attendance, FS time, magazine sales, etc. No wonder with crap like

"is no longer seving as an elder' "has been deleted from the servant body" "is

    no longer a JW"

It's so exciting to see the evil slave painting themselves into that tight corner.
