    I don't 'believe' in it because ...er...because I don't!

I like to trust my gut feeling and my gut tells me to take it all with a huge pinch of salt.

It's a book that people like to beat other people up with. That being so..it can't be all good!

I have gone through the 'niggles' of not believing it. Then I decided to read it without pre-conceived ideas, (very difficult, but I'm trying). Guess what? My faith is stronger than I've ever experienced. I know this is hard for some to believe but, it's all been fulfilled. The Bible is a history book. It's still alive yet, all the prophecies have been accomplished.

I came to this conclusion on my own. It has opened my eyes and ears to peace that I never thought was attainable. The fruits of the spirit are alive and will continue forever, IMHO.

It would interest me to have someone duplicate a book like the Bible and have it translated in as many languages and be a great seller.

If the Bible is the biggest hoax of all time, what does it say about mankind?

The Federal Reserve System is one of the biggest hoaxes going since 1913, where's the outcry?

    Just thinking out loud.

one reason I believe many believe the bible to be the word of God is because of an effect I first read about

    from Robert Anton Wilson.

he said [paraphrased due to poor memory]: books are mirrors of the soul, no monkey looking in will find a god staring back.

meaning that when you read anyone words, you only read your own experiences. which are triggered by the authors words, not his.

it should seem obvious from the 30,000 plus christian religions that exist from one book that we dont read what the authors intended but what we experience from those words.... and since there is a godlike subconsciousness within us which reads itself into the god role, its not supprizing that we see god

I believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God. Why? Because of the abundance of practical but extremely wise advice found within. It also explains our existence and the existence of all physical things (including energy) in a way that makes sense to me at the deepest level. Creation makes sense to me but blind chance (evolution) recurring zillions of times against astronomical odds does not.

    I exist, so I am

    I am , so I was created

I was created, so there is a creator

If there is a creator, he must talk to us somehow

If he talks to us somehow, I think the bible would be his word

    I exist, so I am

I am , so I was created << unwarrented conclusion, I am so I have always been (^_^)

I was created, so there is a creator << what I am has always been, it did not create me

If there is a creator, he must talk to us somehow << the idea of a creator is just mythology

If he talks to us somehow, I think the bible would be his word << if he existed and he talked to us he would not need a bible.

The Bible contradicts itself way too much to be from God. It has to be from men.
