Interesting (at least it was to me...) (page 2)

Thanks to all for your coments. All very interesting. Except Biogret ... Dude, take a chill pill, calm down and take a few deep breaths. The "near" and "soon" that's been talked about for 120 years is neither near nor soon. Ya got some time to calm down.

Thankfully, I live outside the territory of the congregation my G/F belongs to. I get folks from another, further away. And their "schedule" is pretty much like has been mentioned. They came out about 4 years ago and I told them I was of the "annointed" class. I figured that would freak them out and they'd mark me off some list.

Then, a man and woman came out in 2003. We chatted and then they returned (I wasn't even expecting this one) and came inside. We talked for a while but we had some disagreement on jehovah's name being in the NT, to which I promptly quoted the WT article and the "reasoning" book (I believe...) that shows the WTS agrees that it wasn't in any original bible translations. They left, cordially, soon after telling me they'd return soon. I guess I have about 118 years or so for their "soon"....

Then two ladies came out in 2004. We just talked at the door but I gave them a printed version of the WT publications that agree jehovah's name doesn't appear in the NT and I've never seen them again, either. You'd think they'd compare notes and figure out who the asshole who keeps jerking their chains lives! At least we are always cordial, I always smile and speak to them friendly and lightly. I guess that's persecution, too, eh?
