As for Valis - imagine, if you will, waking up at 3am to see him propped up on one elbow looking at you. You're in a small two-man tent and don't know if you are best laying there, turning to face him, or turning your back to him - quite a quandry, may I assure you! I'm just glad I wasn't wearing the kilt...

Very few people know the totally positive effect you had on me, when I first joined this board. Is there a way to measure the psychological and emotional impact of a long-time and respected poster, reading on page 4 of a thread of an otherwise non-descript thread, to "recognize" a new poster?

Perhaps that would be a topic that you might care to initiate?

In any case, I'm glad you were there for me, in my time of need.

It is obvious you two didn't do any drinking the night before. If you had I'm sure you would have woke up, rolled over, looked at Valis's head, thought it was some kind of hairy land octopus and smashed it to death with a shovel. Then again maybe you did. He seems a bit nicer now after his trip to visit you. If there was more to the adventure you two had in your two man love tent, it certainly goes way beyond what inquiring minds want to know.

Oh, and we did have a visit from the local constabulary, though for some strange reason they were loathe to attempt waking us. It probably didn't help that I was in full paranoia-mode, at the time ... well, I'd just woken up and couldn't find a shovel in the tent ... at least that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!
