Why is it that our head of state's "Royal Family" acts like a soap opera? I say, UP THE REPUBLIC (unless, of course, I would happen to get some title of nobility, or a seat in the House of Lords).

Yeah, that'd be pretty frustrating... At any rate, I always felt bad for Diana since Charles seemed to make her so unhappy by continuing to be mentally unfaithful to her in regard to Camilla. Sadly, Camilla will always have to live with her ghost. I'd have a real hard time with that.

I know I'm American, but I thought it was abomindable that the flag wasn't lowered immediately after Diana's death.
A lot of people felt like that. However, up until the time of Diana's death, a flag was only flown at Buckingham Palace when the Queen was home. Also, it's her own Royal Standard that's flown and not the Union Jack. This meant that there was no flag on the mast to lower.

Buckingham Palace has announced that the Union flag will fly, for first time, at half-mast from Buckingham Palace during Princess of Wales' funeral. Normally the standard is flown whenever the Queen is in London. It is never flown at half-mast - symbolising the continuation of the monarchy.
The Queen has ordered the Royal Standard to be lowered from the Palace flagpole when she leaves to attend the funeral and the Union Flag will be flown at half-mast until midnight on Saturday. "This is a mark of respect for the Princess on the day of her funeral," said a Palace spokeswoman
