Ok I'm ready to take a vacation and I'm suffering from information overload.

Last year I went to Iberostar in Cozumel June 10 thru 17 - the absolute worst vacation of my life! It rained 29 inches in 6 hours and 50 inches the whole week. The power was out and a state of emergency was declared and EVERYTHING was flooded and wet.

So this year I'm looking at the Mayan Riviera or perhap Turks & Caicos or St. Lucia- any suggestions (be detailed). I took a Princess Cruise two years ago to St. Maartin and St.Thomas it was nice, but I want spectacular!

I want bitchen pools, killer beach, awesome dining and a "romantic" area. I also love to fish and Scuba dive (but don't have to) I've talke to 3 travel agents and they don't know squat. They all contradict each other. Pictures would be nice.

Please please please help me out.

Based on your past experience, some parts of California might not be a good idea.

U/D The Island of St Martin/Sint Maartin is a facinating place - 1/2 French, 1/2 Dutch. Near there, is an Island called Anguila which is Brittish and they drive on the wrong side. Kev and I were there on both islands 20 years ago, and the Anguilla had only one stoplight at a crossroads, and it didn't work! Both places are great. Off of Anguila is a short hop to Sandy Key, a great place to snorkle. Again, my experience is 20 years old. Get online and check it out.

Rumors have it that Belize is excellent! However, in all of the areas you are looking at, Hurricane season starts in May and ends in November....

We are going to Hilo approx June 18 thru July 10. We expect rain. Kailua Kona, the E side is the sunny side.

I notice that you live in Colorado. I love BC and Alberta, Canada. Why not Yellowstone? I suppose you have been there. No bitchen beaches though.

The Columbia River Gorge area is terrific and there are a lot from JWD out there.

I'm looking for WARM EVERYTHING! sand, water, skin...

preferably while being served rum based drinks at water side.

We stayed last winter at the Crown Paradise Resort in Cancun. It was amazing. Beautiful white sandy beach, all inclusive. Five restaurants and a buffet to chose from. 3 swimming pools and a swim up bar. The service was perfect. They had live shows every nite. You could sit and drink at 4 different bars all nite. as much as you wanted. They do have a web site so you can browse the hotel. We enjoyed it and would definately go back. They also have an all adult resort further up the street if u don't want the noise of families. My husband and I checked it out as they have a free shuttle than runs between the 2 resorts so you can spend the day at either. The all adult resort was beautiful and much much quieter. Depends what u are looking for..oh. and there is a poolside bar so you can drink on the beach if you like...

Last year I went back to Cozumel and had a blast. No rain, sunny days, perfect beach, good food, cold beer.

Not only did I get to dive the Palancar reef and walls, but I took the ferry over to the mainland and dove the underground cenotes (caverns) and that was spectacular.

If you're a diver, you should give it a shot.

Check out pics of the cenotes here:

The Playa Ucares area of Puerto Rico is very nice. I was there 2 years ago and had a great time. It's pretty centrally located to San Juan and Old San Juan, El Yunce (Rainforest), has bioluminescent plankton bays and sorts of other cool sights. The Bacardi Distillery is a cool tour as well.
