Yesterday I ordered something from Amazon.com. I wanted the package quickly (today), so I chose ONE-day delivery. Afterwards, I got my receipt and it said it'd arrive on the 25th. But today is here and the site shows it hasn't even been shipped yet. I know it's my fault for getting something so last minute. But if I don't get it until Monday, then should I have to pay for overnight charges???

PS: This is for Mozz's 30th birthday (today), so it probably serves me right for being such a procrastinator.

I'd call them and tell them you asked for overnight. Demand a refund for the "overnight" charge you spent.
They offer it as an option, so don't beat yourself up because they f**ked up.

something weird is going on at amazon. i have bought many items using amazon recently and yet yesterday they told me that i had bought nothing at all from them. they said the same thing to a friend who is also a frequent user. what the hell's going on there? they've got my bank details, and it makes me nervous!

Amazon is getting slower and slower. If you choose the free shipping, it takes almost two weeks for the stuff to arrive.

I ordered from Barnes and Noble the last time and the books were delivered 3 days later like the old days with Amazon. I'll be using B&N from now on.

I think part of the problem with Amazon is that whatever shipping option you choose doesn't kick in until they actually ship the items. I'd second the notion of calling and complaining that you ordered one-day shipping for a reason, and want the charge reduced because it didn't ship promptly. Unfortunately, Amazon's service does seem to be going downhill, and stuff is taking a lot longer to get out their door. Once they manage to get it shipped, the carriers pretty much do what they are supposed to.

I've looked all over their stupid site and can't find a phone number. It just takes me to another web page. This is making me grumpy.

Hi Chloe, I like your picture! Do you know where I can get a larger version of it? --VM44

hi Billygoat, I don't think Amazon wants people calling, but I do think they will respond to your email, and might even give you a refund of part of the shipping if you didn't get it in one day. They probably didn't have the book in there warehouse, so it took extra days before shipping. So far, I have had only good experience with how they ship books. --VM44

I haven't found a number. BUT if you go to your amazon account and then to "help" then to "where's my stuff" then to "Click for call back" they are supposed to call you back within a couple of minutes of you requesting it.

What a bunch of jerks for not posting a number...

Hi Andi. We'll meet (calamityjane and xjw_b12) some day. You feel, you kinda blew it here.....from a women's perspective I suppose. From what you have shared here on JWD I don't think it's going to be a problem.

And to the "MoZZ" man Happy Birthday from Dave and Denise
