Since you saw her, were you trolling in the same spot? Who hooked up first? lol Enquiring minds wanna know. ; )

G Money, to answer your question, I was already hooked up with my husband and 5 other friends who were out that night. I have no idea if she was trying or did "hook" up, she is a very pretty girl and by her demeanor I know exactly where she is in life, stuck in a religion and yet trying to find a life at the same time.

I think we have all felt stuck one time or another!

cindykp .. The way I see it .. as long as you aren't df'd yet, it can still be reversed. Call an elder immediately to find out. Only if you seriously do not want to be df'd though. If you smoke and live c/l, though, you know you will be df'd. You must realise that. If you truly do not want out .. tell them!!!!!

Cindy, why not just lie about running off and getting married in Vegas or something. As far as I know no one has ever requested a copy of a marriage certificate.

I have a cousin who got married in the Virgin Islands. They had a friend perform a ceremony and then they recorded their marriage in the front of a family Bible (just like they did 200 years ago) and then they came home "married" and she changed her name etc. For all intents and purposes they are married and have been for a few years, although they never did a license because they are a bit fringy and anti-government.

What's worse, an organization that takes your family away? or you lying or concealing something from elders?

I was just explaining to someone else the fact that even If I were married, and didnt smoke right now, I would still get df'd. My uncle is an elder, and he explained that I have been living a life of sin for 15 years. And I am a baptised witness. So I cant go without being disaplined.

Leading a double life sounds like alot more fun that being disf! Have your cake and eat it too. I also have a grandpa, in his 90's. I'm afraid I wont be able to go to his funeral. I guess I still could, but no-one would talk to me. I dont know, are you allowed to do that?

cindykp - You are allowed to do whatever you allow yourself to do in this matter. Go to Granddads funeral if that happens - don't allow the mind-warp mentallity of this cult hold you captive any longer. They are putting you out - right or wrong - but they cannot disallow you from attending any public events like a funeral - the possible exception might be if it is held at the KH. But they can make your life difficult that is no doubt. Plan A - after df'ing announcement, get busy looking the part to get reinstated. Then right after drop completley out of sight as far as the cong is concerned - move, change number, and avoid meetings. As far as they know - you are a witness - and you get to have your family in your life to some [guarded]extent at least. Not a perfect plan. They made the rules - who can blame you for living by them? Just My Opinion Jeff [or the let's get creative with the rules class, if needed]

cindykp .. you make it sound like you are being disciplined for past behavior. But, realistically it is for your present lifestyle .. eg. .. smoking and living with b/f. If you ever plan to get reinstated by changing these two things .. I'm just saying, do it sooner than later.

Sooooooo Im screwed no matter what!!! LOL

The only thing I could do is stop what Im doing now, and wait for them to decide to reinstate me. But what Im worried about, is if I did decide to do that, what if it took 3 years for them to do that? Thats how long it took my brother to get reinstated. Crazy! He only missed 5 meetings in that 3 year period.

Your right about that. I wonder what they would have done if I went and got married right away and told them! Not all elders think alike. Then, I might have gotten time to quit smoking. If I do go back, I'll be riding the same fence as alot of them in my family! hmmmmmmm what to do, what to do LOL Oh well, enough about that, thanks for all your advice!

Tickled pink, sorry for kinda taking over your forum, didnt mean too.

    Take over, I don't care.

I just think it's ridiculous to DF someone over something so personal as their relationship with their significant other. It would be equal to me asking you if you wear purple underwear on Wednesdays and then getting mad at you if you did or didn't. It's none of my business.

How many people go around spewing every personal detail of their life to the average stranger? Elders are nothing but strangers to most of the people they DF, they are in positions of authority when they take off their painter/janitor hat and put on their elder hat, but most of the time they aren't friends with the people, they aren't there to counsel them, they are there to pass judgement like some pseudo court.
