for the Canadians: what do you call the gravy you put on your fries?

I'm on the West Coast (Seattle Minor, Canadian educated version) and many think that's disgusting. Our Francophones, though, have this thing called poutine. You take fries, put cheese curds on top, and then gravy (the gravy will melt the curds). Suprisingly I've never had it.

What freedom that would have previously been considered ?breaking the rules?, do you enjoy and treasure now?

Ahhh, freedom ....yes. Well, let me see.

I married a "cananite" girl. She doesn't run to the Elders if we argue which is seldom.

I can say I'm "lucky" without felling guilty about worshipping god of good luck.

I go to church in blue jeans like most of my friends do.

I donated to the children of Iraq and to the Tsunami without thought of their "congregation status"

I drive a two door car and love it.

I can say God Bless America.

I can say God Bless at the end of some telephone conversations.

I rarely ask for forgivenes of sins when I pray because I know that's a done deal.

I no longer tremble in fear when talking to elders but now watch them do so.

I can pray directy to Christ like Stephen did at times.

I don't have to fight God's battles any longer, just be an obedient vessel and watch Him fight.

I feel guilty now when I lie. It's a sin not a spiritual weapon.

My lobotomy is healing quite nicely!

I've made it my business to break every rule ever shoved down my throat .....

sometimes to my detriment, but then again, even that's a freedom I never had.

    the freedom to f%&k-up.

so as you said .... Ahhhhhh ....

Welcome Back ... and good luck on your degree.

Saying "Yes!" to my kids more often than no.

    Letting my kids be themselves.

    Joining a UU church.

    Joining in earth-based celebrations.

Christmas! Easter candy! Buying, decorating a Christmas tree.

    Saying "Bless you, Merry Christmas."

    Feeling free to be myself.

Throwing my husband (now ex!) out!

    Supporting my kids college dreams.

So much more - yeah for freedom.

Not FAKING who I was anymore, I actually wear skirts that are short if I want to, I watch R rated movies if I want to, I drink what I want to, I have dated and lived with who I wanted to.

Keeping in mind I have never broken any LAW that is in place, I have never done ill to anyone. In fact I live a pretty decent, moral, kind, life.... and how wonderful it is to have the freedom to do that!

The real freedom is that, if I want to do something, I don't have to check in a magazine whether it's OK or not.

I enjoy the freedom of getting to know people without labeling them as 'worldly'. I really enjoy the freedom of celebrating holidays, albeit only at my workplace and with other 'spiritually weak' ones. Can you believe I went out on New Year's Eve, drank, danced and had a ball???!!! We 'spiritually weak' ones even said the traditional "Happy New Year!" greeting!!!

I just love the freedom of being kind to other people genuinely, without reservations because of their beliefs.

I had a lot of sex before marriage we wont go into what positions

before the kids I used to go to dance clubs quite a bit

I read Stephen King and anything else I want

I do cuss when needs be

Probably about the only "rules" I haven't broken are:

    Men who lay with men

Blood transfusion - no need. When I need one I'll accept it.

    Murder

    Ummmm

Cutting off my nose to spite my face?

Welcome back. I'm glad you've surfaced again. It will be a pleasure getting to know you. Good luck in college, and god/dess bless!

    Hugs

    Re: Ahh the Freedom

This is for those who fancy 'freedom' A blind old guy who lived hundreds of years ago - he knew a thing or two about 'motives' Apart from being simply amazing how he knew all this stuff, it is the most sublime poetry and good to see he is coming back into his own these days. enjoy!

    ; how wearisome
248: Eternity so spent in worship paid
249: To whom we hate. Let us not then pursue
250: By force impossible, by leave obtain'd
251: Unacceptable, though in Heav'n, our state
252: Of splendid vassalage, but rather seek
253: Our own good from our selves, and from our own
254: Live to our selves, though in this vast recess,
255: Free, and to none accountable, preferring
256: Hard liberty before the easie yoke
257: Of servile Pomp. Our greatness will appear
258: Then most conspicuous, when great things of small,
259: Useful of hurtful, prosperous of adverse
260: We can create, and in what place so e're
261: Thrive under evil, and work ease out of pain
    262: Through labour and endurance.

This statement from "Belial" I think, from Book 2 of Milton's classic.
