I once asked the designer of a top-selling car how long he'd designed the car to last - his reply? 180,000 km, not much more than 100,000 miles. He said that he'd be scared to ride in anything with more miles on the clock - they just aren't built to last any longer.
Makes you think, eh?
My Audi has 185,000 miles on the clock and I can guarantee it will do at least another 100,000 miles before dying. European cars are built to last, unlike Fords or GM vehicles.

Do they still exist?
do what still exist? European cars?
Volkswagen is the biggest car company in the world, not everything revolves around what happens in the USA
I think he meant Fords & GMs.

No, I meant european cars. From what i understood, there's no distinctly national car any more. Engines are made in country, bodies in another and so on. So-called competitors share engine makers and so it goes on.
Me, i like a nice Korean job, meself!
Sounds like you might have a weak battery.
...must be that British petroleum
Weak/dying/dead battery. How old is it? (the battery) Anything over 5 years is definitly suspect.
I had one new from the factory finally go out at 11 years and 132,000 miles, not km.
