Will somebody please tell me how in the world they came up with Emblems? Bread and wine is what I read, why can't they say bread and wine?

Thank you IP_SEC. Nothing has changed.

Littleflock and other sheep benefit from the ransom (13mins)

    (...)

Celelbrating the memorial of christ's death today (12mins)

A significant portion of the talk concentrates on "not partaking!" And Jesus sounds like having a background role.

Ya its because they are emblematic or symbolic of the blood and body of christ. Why cant they use the word host like other religons? Its just dub speak, they gotta have their own clean, untainted by BtG words to use.

~~I was quite disgusted. I used to enjoy the Memorial talk years ago when they'd actually discuss in some detail, the Israelites leaving Egypt, the actual Last Supper and the events leading up to it. Now there's barely any mention at all of this stuff. They gloss over it and then fast-forward to the scriptures about the "little flock" and then in Revelation talking about the 144,000 and the New Covenent......it's really lame with the obvious agenda to promote the Governing Body's position right below (or beside) Jehovah's.

This is true. Over the years, the actual meaning of the events leading up to Christ's death, and then meaningful discussion of the Crucifixion take a far back seat to the glorifying of the WTS view of their false Christ.

~~It rather takes the edge off what the memorial is all about really doesnt it?

It sure does. I honestly think that the "pretend Memorial" is just one more painful twist in their beliefs that are designed to NOT focus on the importance of Christ's sacrifice and death. The way I see it is, anything that is purposely done to push the importance of the Crucifixion away from the JWs minds and fill them with nonsense, IS definetly anti-christ in nature.

The WTS is very subtle in doing this, and I only realized this not too long ago. When I thought about EVERY aspect of that religion under that context-it surprised even me! Everything they do is only a sham of what Jesus was all about, and doesn't "follow through" with what he taught.

The WTS does not teach the essence of Christ, but they have taken bits and pieces and formed a psuedo-religion around him, so they could call themselves "Christian". This "Christian Cong of JWs" that they have recently taken on, is just one more step to appear that they are Christ's followers and the reality is that they are moving further and further away from him. (Or maybe it's just that I have only realized it now)

I can't say I know where they dug this up---but I do know that anything that the accepted churches of the world use as a familiar term---the WTS takes the liberty of tacking on their own words just to BE different!

The same with the "Last Supper" which everyone is familiar with. THEY call it the "Lord's Evening Meal"---again, just to be different. It's always a case of "the same but not the same" with them, which is why I say that they are anti-Christ but pretending to be followers. They skew everything and then claim that "God" spoke to them so that these "differences" would then appear to have an explanation.

I still don't understand WHY the greatest event of the resurrection is overlooked and not even spoken about on that day! How many that consider themselves Christian don't celebrate Easter? He conquered death--the whole meaning of the basis OF Christianity! Yet, the ONLY religion approved by the Father--does not bat an eyelash over this fact! The most awesome and marvelous event in history----and the "God's chosen" religion yawns.

    Was Judas there or not?

I dunno. But, one thing I do know is that millions of Judas' will be there this year to disobey and publically reject Christ as they "pass" on the emblems. Isn't mind control fun?

And the same sister, who everyone knows is crazy as a bedbug, partaking 'cause she decided she's anointed.

    OH MY GOD!

    They are in everywhere...

They barely mention Jesus anymore for god's sake. I'd say 3/4 of the talk is focused on the identity of the 144,000......

Their other main focus is why NOBODY should be partaking because the 144,000 is almost toast.

Last year (had to go long story) a person who just studying came. I am sure they were primed at the home study what was going to happen. Then they had to sit...ZZZZZZ...through the talk. When the emblems were passed she reached out for them to take.. NO..NO..NO was the frantic under the breath comment given by her mortified study conductor. The lady jerked back as if some one had struck her. I wonder if she will go again this year??

I *never* realised that before! Seriously.... wow. Will have to ask my mum what she thinks about that - what is the JW reasoning for this?

I'm also going to be asking mum to pay attention to how long is spent talking specifically about Jesus and how long is spent talking about not partaking. She already believes Jesus is her Mediator and accepts the WT is wrong, so maybe she'll have a little bit of an open mind...
