    Here you go, Afin and other WTS supporters;

    1) Why does the WTS insist on claiming that elders are appointed under holy spirit, when it's been proven that they have been guilty of so-called unchristian behaviors?

    2) Can YOU prove that they are appointed by holy spirit?

It would make you somewhat credible if you answered the questions asked of you on this board, rather than popping in to offer opinions and sarcasm.

Looking forward to seeing some pertinent answers.

This is how they "reason" in that regard...

These older men meet the requirements that are set out in God?s Word, which is a product of God?s spirit. (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9) Hence, their appointment can be said to be by holy spirit. (Acts 20:28) The older men, or elders, must be thoroughly familiar with God?s Word. Like the Supreme Judge who appointed them, the elders also must hate anything that resembles partiality in judgment.?Deuteronomy 10:17, 18.

According to that reasoning, anyone who fits the descriptions in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 can be described as "spirit appointed"... including non-JWs.

Basically it is a load of BS.

...can be said to be by holy spirit.

Uh??? That's a laugh! The light bulb of reality must slowly be turning ON.

I believe during the early stages of the Christian Congregation Holy Spirit did appoint people. My guess is that it stopped after the Apostles died off.

Good for you, Annie. Don't hold your breath.

Let's see pedophilia, shunning people, lording it over the flock, unyielding attitudes, Kangaroo courts, judges for righteousness, HLC thugs, the list stretches into infinity.

    Appointed by Holy Spirit? NO.

Appointed by spirits? Probably. Just use your imagination as to the spirit's origin.

    Elsewhere and Flash,

Thanks for your replies. I posted this mostly for Afin who got his/her panties in a bunch when I posted these questions on another thread. I TOLD him/her that I was going to do this and as you can see......this is being ignored, LOL.

Afin has a habit of poking posters with a stick, saying something foolish-and then retreating to go find a bigger stick.

I was giving him/her a chance to appear somewhat credible as a "productive" member of this board...........

Annie........who thinks that Afin does not play well with others.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. I thought it would at least be something that a reasonable person could take seriously, but this is truely a head wagging, astoundinly ignorant and arrogant 'reason'.
