"Bablyon the Great has Fallen" book? Funny, no one brings that up anymore...

No wonder - LOL, I picked this up at a used book store for a couple of bucks -How do you spell doomsday fanatic? I can't imagine kids having to study this ! - These are now adults now! YIKES !

    iiz2cool :

there has been quite a bit of friction over soft lumber, mad cows and deserters lately between the north & the south - symbolically that would be fornicators, the beast & apostates!!!

oooh, I just scared myself -

We studied that book over and over during the Congregation Book Study.

I can't believe we used to OFFER that book to the public during the door-to-door ministry. Geez.

One JW friend of mine said about offering the book: "It would be hard for anyone in the public to believe that the book of Revelation had most of its fulfillment among Jehovah's Witnesses in the 20th century." I think that says it all.

    Hey,

I was an adult when I read it---and I never "got it" either!

C'mon, isn't it obvious that the seven trumpet blasts described in Revelation refers to Bible Student conventions in New York and Ohio in the early part of the century? Where they "Rocked the Nations'?.....with their condemnation of false religion. It's sooooo crystal clear to me....ugggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

    Integ.

    LMAO!

Seriously, I find the Rev. book useful for making the following point:
    JWs are supposed to believe:
    (A) JWs/WT have got everything in the bible COMPLETELY figured out: Daniel, Revelations, all that tricky stuff that has confounded biblical scholars through the ages, THEY, and THEY ALONE, have COMPLETELY and EXACTLY figured out, deciphered, etc. There is no room for error or question, they have every single scripture of Revelation decoded, beyond all doubt. Don't doubt their interpretation, because they are GOD'S CHANNEL and this is HIS (GOD'S) MESSAGE.
    (B) When WT flip-flops on the status/future of those in Sodom & Gommorah, or on organ transplants, or vaccinations, or on whether or not GRAVITY exists, (for example), we are to accept that they, as a "channel", are IMPERFECT MEN and can and do make mistakes
Somehow, these two beliefs are not to be seen and self-contradictory.

    Come on, people.

The major issue facing mankind is UNIVERSAL SOVEREIGNTY. If you reject or are unaware of the Watchtower's proclamation of this truth to you, then you are DOOMED.

Everyone knows it. That's why the issue is covered so frequently in all the major newspapers and newsmagazines of the world.

No, but there's plenty of room for new light!

Just read this on page 168:

This detail in the prophecy thus indicates the shame that the two witnesses had to endure. Those mentioned above who were imprisoned were even denied bail while their cases were on appeal.

    OH WHAT SHAME!!! LOL!!!!
