Leaving Las Vegas A very poignant powerful drama of the life of an obsessed alcoholic, determined to destroy himself thru booze, drinking himself into oblivion until it is he actually dies. A very dark and disturbing drama. Great music though, Sting has some of the best music I've heard from him in years, in that movie.

When I was a teen I really wanted to see "Platoon" with Charlie Sheen. My parents said no way.
That was the first movie I saw when I left the house. Now its not one of my favorites or anything, but I just had to see it. Oh yeah and they wouldn't let me watch Miami Vice either -- so when it went into syndication -- I watched the show religiously -- even taping the episodes I missed!
Such rebellion!

Pulp Fiction is a great movie. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest Natural Born Killers. Have you seen The Godfather series? Megadude turned me on to them a couple of years ago and I am still thanking him for it.

xelder: if you are into Tarantino check out the Kill Bill duo. Samuari meets Western, all casually handled by a smarmy director.

Speaking of Tropic of Cancer I must mention Henry & June...very naughty movie about Henry Miller and Anais Nin.

I have to weigh in on this even tho I'm not JW...my ex LOVED Pulp Fiction and Scarface and he still has these movies, Resevoir Dogs..anything with blood & gore. The other day I went to his house (he lives with his folks) to get my son & he showed me Farenheit 9/11!!
Interesting!!
