Is not that my grandpa, at age 92

92! Well he's given you some seriously strong genes there. You're gonna outlive the religion, and some!

    Take care.

    steve.

I know how you feel. It was the same for me when my grandfather died. Almost like living the movie, Invasion of the Body Snatchers -- who are these strangers in the bodies of the people I thought loved me?

It's just not right, and you don't have to go through it alone.

I may be totally wrong on this, so any "previous elders" can help. I always thought that cremation was against the religion. Back in say 1985 or before? I was told no tonight by family members. Ok, one family member who still talks with me!!!!!!!!!

I'm so sorry for you. My last grandparent, my Grandma, died when she was 94 and I was in my 40's. It was not any easier because of her age! I still miss her today, many yrs later.

Since Jehovah does not express disapproval of cremation in the Bible, it remains a matter for personal decision.

Going back to 65 it was ok, cant find anything from before then.

    Cindy-

So sorry for the troubles you are facing. So very sorry that people who should know better, refuse to behave like decent, loving human beings.

I do not recall any prohibition of cremation. I always understood it to be matter of choice.

    Hugs,

    -Aude.

Like I said, I get more from all of you, than I would ever get from anyone in the JW'S. Thank you! It is pretty sad that you can get more from people you dont even know, than people who you grew up with in the congregation.

Gotta get some rest, but will respond tomarrow! Again, thanks for your support!

Hi Cindy, I'm sorry for your loss, especially with your grandfather being disillusioned by religion in his last days, the issues of the Catholic Church, and trying to hi-jack your grandfather for more money. Your needing comfort in your moment of need, yet, not available to you by those in your Kingdom Hall. Wishing for you the support of the JWD community in your moment of crises. Regretfully, Arthur
