The Witness cult is so f'd up because it is automatically thought that dating for longer than 2 times=impending marriage.

I met a sister at the Kingdom Hall when I was 18 and she has been my girlfriend for four years now. Some in the congregation say we have been together too long and that it is not proper for us to be together so long without getting married.
Sounds Amish. Or sumpin'

I didn't date any JW girls. In fact I really didn't date any girls besides my wife who I met at 18. It all worked out so that's good. JW girls hated me!!

So wish I had brought myself to date recreationally as a JW! I dated two guys in that religion... Was proposed to by the first but I freaked out and said no deciding I was too young to marry. The second guy I dated in that religion I ended up marrying at the young age of 21.
I am so glad I got away from that religion because I finally experienced getting to know someone without feeling any sort of obligation to that person, being able to have a relationship in the fullest sense of the word without feeling like you have to spend the rest of your life with that person or being afraid you're going to mess up and have sex (uh-oh) with the person and not having to contemplate marriage when you've only just met the guy!
I actually met my soulmate, the man who is perfect for me, through recreational dating online! Way to go match.com and recreational dating!
Might I add... "I'm the best I've ever had" and I never would have known it had I stayed in that religion!

Ah... those wonderful 19th century dating ettiqeutte rules. I never dated a JW chick in my cong. since there was never anyone worth the grief you would recieve when "caught". Worldly girls were off limits so school really sucked. When I moved to a larger JW community the problem persisted since all the eligible women would party all weekend and repent on Monday and you got to explain how your evening went with a couple of elders.
So, no teenage sex for me but I never had one of those bloody meetings whilst almost everybody else I knew at the time were walked into the interrogation room! That was never going to happen to me. My friends made a pact in my early twenties (while still coasting along in the org.) to have nothing to do with our christian sisters and it was one of smartest things I've ever done (even if it meant a lot of onesome's).

Somehow I missed out on the memo about dating only being for marriage, I thought it was cool as long it was with someone from the hall. Well, I got pulled aside and had things explained to me. At that point I was already sneaking around playing football on the sly (man, talk about some complicated manuevering on that one, but I had always been a good kid so they believed the outrageous lies) so the next logical step was dating on the sly. Even at 15 I realized that the whole thing was jacked and that cheerleader at the games that kept scoping me out bore further inspection. Got a taste of the "wordly" girls and never looked back.

I thought I was dating to find a marriage mate, but all the "brothers" I dated just wanted to have sex. Most of their parents had a boys will be boys mentality. One of the "brothers" I dated had a bedroom that was the entire upstairs of his house, and his mother would rent us movies and send us up to his room to watch them (wink, wink). Another's parents would let us "sleep" together as long as it wasn't in bed (ie on the couch or on sleeping bags on the floor). Then we would all get up and go to the hall together on Sunday morning........talk about wierd. Once I left, I thought it was strnage that worldly guys weren't all that uptight about sex.
