In the more recent publications they really don't "dog" the UN like they used to. The articles are so neutral and I haven't seen (but that doesn't mean a whole lot...)any nasty references to the "scarlet beast" or other such appelations as used in the past. I suppose for the mind-clouded r&f it wouldn't register. But why can't they figure that the once-reviled UN is not so reviled these days? Co-incidentally, it seems to have started after the UN scandal was brought to [new] light? Hmmmm.....

Go to your nearest library that carries the UN's information and look up a DPI Directory.

Click on the below link and read. My list of url links will get you to the library section where you can figure out which library houses whatever.

You can also write Directly to the UN DPI or the UN's library and they will mail you the exact same letter.

A couple of minor points. The WTS is always considered an NGO and has never joined the UN. ONly countries join the UN. An NGO is basically a not for profit private corporation.

What the WTS did, as an NGO, was in 1991 they volunarily applied to the the UN's Department of Public Information to become an "associated non govenmental organization" with the UN's Department of Public Information. As part of the application, the WTS had to voluntarily agree to supporting the UN's charter (which allows for war - eg. Korean conflict and 1991 Gulf War) and to diseminate UN information to people. In 1992 the DPI committee agreed to accredit the WTS as an "associated NGO" with the Watchtower. The DPI considers this a "partnership".

This basically violated the 1991 WT rag article titled "Their Refuge is a lie" where the WT explained that the Catholics are part of Babylon the Great by showing 24 catholic NGOs were associated with the UN's DPI.

Know your stuff inside out before you go at your wife.

I’ve told my wife and stepson about the WTS and their UN affiliation. The stepson says he know it is true but doesn’t care. The wife says she believes me but the WTS must have had a legitimate reason. Neither the stepson nor the wife gives credence to the idea that the WTS should be held accountable to their own stated standards.

I don't know why any of us is surprised. It's mind control. Unless something happens to a dub that *hurts them personally* most will blindly go through live burying their doubts and will never allow themselves to admit to their doubts about the Org.

*sigh* It's like watching a loved one smoke three packs a day and then, after showing them boatloads of research on how it may very well kill them, having them say, "it's made up. people are always out to get the tobacco companies."

I know that the above statement is true in my case. Once I was hurt I started questioning.

Yep, I got the same response from Dub family members when Dateline blew the lid off the pedophile problem. When my father insisted that "there must be something more to why these people were disfellowshipped" and that "Satan is controlling the media", I said "..Did you have any problem believing Dateline when they were exposing the pedophile problem within the Catholic Church? No? Was Satan controlling the Media when this was exposed or did the Catholic Church finally get their just rewards for hiding this problem for years? Then why do you have such a problem believing that the same thing hasn't happened in the Organization?"

I thought the truth would set you free ............... Not a big deal ? I've read the agreement that was signed by the WTBTS to become an NGO . In it they willingly submitted their " Godly authority" to the kings of the earth .After years of saying the UN was their #1 enemy . They had to support the ideals of the UN which include violent actions to enforce the UN charter mandate . There is no way they can sugar coat this . I'm sure the cult has craftilly controlled the R&F to shut down any attempts to research the info . They really are a joke ..........
