***Any chance of a pre-release version?***
What? and spoil the ending? It all depends on how many times my two year old little grand daughter jumps on my lap and knees me in the groin this weekend. I don't type with my groin but I will need my hands to protect myself.
***are you going to make it into a mini-series for the "lazy to read" class***
Joy, it might end up in two or three parts. Just get Steve to print it out and read it to you while your knitting and drinking scotch. BTW, I'm still pissed at you for take off to Europe in the middle of your trip visit those funny speaking foreigners when you two drove all the up to Oregon.
***I seem to be stuck at steps 7&8, if I understand you correctly. Bad habits need to change eh.***
That all depends on your definition of bad habits.
***I sent you a PM once explaining where I am that went something like this:
I'm currently meeting my demons of old, saying hello, shaking their hand, and telling them to fuck off.
I think I’m currently at the kicking puppies stage. I am very angry after understanding what this whole shit is all about. ***
Steve, I remember your PM. Being pissed is just a part of it for most of us. You are a lot more normal than you might think. That is a good thing once someone finally figures out what the hell normal really is.
Kate,
Jan was one hell of a lady. The board went a bit sober after she passed.

Ahh, yeah Dave she sure was, I thought you would remember her too, but I also thought you had already hit the sack, up pretty late Davey-boy doncha need yer beauty rest so you can chase those young cheerleader types?
My addition to your list:
1. Questioning and becoming honest with yourself
2. The rinsing and drying of a brainwashed mind
3. Anger, don't kick the puppy
4. Relearning how to learn
5. Epiphanies and discovering reality
6. Now where? Finding your Teddy bear
7. Finding Balance
8. What the hell is normal? Normal is a setting on the dryer
Looking forward to your post Dave, it should be another one of your steller posts.
Kate
bikerchic
thank you once again.
I've had a scan through Jan's post and this is stuff written from someone who understands human behavior in a cult, and emotive.
steve.
Kate,
How old is your dryer? Mine doesn't have a normal setting on it. They now charge you three times as much, make it twice the capacity size it use to be, and make it harder to find anything resembling a normal cycle then ever before. I never read manuals but I think the sales person said all I have to do is cuss at it and it starts to run. It even has two or three slow down phases that runs and then beeps for people who drink and dry and fall asleep on the sofa.
It's getting weird out there in washer dryer land. Pretty soon you'll need a college degree to dry your damn cloths.
Now, I'm going to bed.

You got that right Dave and I'm so disappointed in my new dryer I've climbed in several times on Perma Press and still come out all wrinkled, that really sucks man!
Night Dave.

Interesting topic for a thread, and coincidental. I wrote a book about emotional recovery after leaving the dubs, and it contains 10 steps. This a.m., I read over this thread and the links in it, and they are strikingly similar to what I wrote about. I guess that gives me confidence that I'm on the right track! I hope to get my book published within the next month. Just finishing up all the technical details, ugh.
