Perfection and the Penis

Oh and Mulan my statement about Natureopaths receiving no formal training was a poor choice of words. I TRULY do respect a Natureopath, just like I respect an MD. It's just that personally, I want that MD to be Board Certified.

and PPS I am way more into the natureal lifestyle than you might think. I am currently taking red raspberry, black cohosh and uva ursi. I'm sure you know the reason if you know your herbs.

Reagan, I had my daughter at an alternative birthing center. A home birth would not have been covered by my insurance, and I was a single parent at the time. I think it is wonderful if you are able to have your children at home.

Did you read what I wrote? Dad had to take the SAME State boards as an MD. Exactly the same.

My father was extremely good in his field, and delivered over 2000 babies, and never lost a baby or a mother. NEVER!!! He sent one to a hospital for a C section, early in labor.

He delivered my first two kids, and I couldn't believe how easy it was to have a baby. His partner delivered my daughter, because he was away. When I had my last baby, I went to an OB because I was 34 and it had been 10 years since I had a baby, and I felt I needed to do that. Besides Dad lived in Idaho then, and it was a long way to go to have a baby. It was a good decision, because I had placenta previa, and would have had to go to the hospital anyway. This way, my doctor was with me all the way. He was born 6 weeks early, and the incubator was right there.

Man, have we gotten far away from the original subject? Oh yes. We had him circumcised!!

Mulan read my above thread; we were posting at the same time.

And, for the same reason as you (11 years in between births and a rough first trimester) I decided a little more medical intervention would be necessary.

Do I know herbs? My email name is 'herblst'. I have been into herbs for nearly 10 years, in my own business, but of course I learned tons of stuff from Dad, and working for him in summers, and I also helped him with home deliveries. I am confident I could deliver a baby, no problem. (as long as there are no complications, but I could do it)

Good for you. Red Raspberry is awesome. Conditions the uterus, for a smooth go!! Dad always gave us Gelsinium (homeopathic) when labor started. It kept the contractions consistent. He also used Arnica (another homeopathic) for pain afterwards. No drugs. Arnica is Arsenic. But if you know homeopathy, you know it is such a minute dilution, that it would take several gallons to give you a stomach ache even, but in the homeopathic dose, it's an awesome pain killer, for localized pain. Be careful with Black Cohosh, unless you are in your last trimester.

    Hi Mulan,
I'm curious...I'm sure your dad is great in his field but even tho he had to take state certification....I know of no hospital that clinically trains naturopaths. I've never seen any as interns or residents. Where did he train in OB GYN? I'm certified in the healthcare field and have never seen one on staff anywhere I've worked. Thanks in advance. hugs, tina

    AGuest sed:

First, let me say that the ONLY thing perfection and penis have in common is that they both start with 'p'.

I'd disagree with you there. If you knew my husband the way I do (which you do not, of course) then you would say that the penis IS perfection!!!

LDH - Unfortunately, our ins. doesn't cover home birthing (or midwifery, or alternative prenatal care, or homeopathic treatments), so it's all gonna be out of pocket for us. I don't even PLAN on TRYING to get pregnant for another YEAR, and I'm saving money now. The Cleveland Clinic is close by, and they've recently overhauled their birthing unit; they do water births, have state-certified midwives on staff, and have "home-like birthing suites" for the family. A friend recently gave birth there, and her husband brought candles and made a CD of music to listen to. Pretty interesting, eh?

    Q. How do you circumcise a hillbilly?

    A. Kick his sister in the jaw.

    Hi Tina,
I think he would have had to go to Mexico. I was only about 14 at the time, but I think that was the thing, or to Europe, Switzerland I believe. That was the ideal place. He always talked about the superiority of the training in Europe anyway.

Naturopaths get extensive training in obstetrics, and are fully licensed to do normal births, but not surgery, like a C section. They can't dispense drugs either, but he was able to use a gas for pain in contractions. I think it was called Trilene. I used it for my second birth. The first was virtually pain free. Second boy had a bigger head. MUCH bigger. They can do episiotomies, and give injections too. He had nurses who worked for him. One LPN and an RN.

His practice was HUGE. You can imagine how it would be with Jehovah's witnesses, and their grapevine. People came to him from all over the country, and some foreign countries too. Back in the 60's people would bring their babies to him, after taking them from a hospital that wanted to transfuse it,.....Rh babies. (you could do that back then, and not be prosecuted) I don't know what he did for those little ones, but no baby ever died, and they are okay today too.

I hope that answers your questions. Bastyr University, here in my area, is a board certified university.
