I'm not surprised in the least.
Before someone is charged for any crime, there should be an accountant who checks the bank balance. If there are more than 6 zeros then the person should be set free. They'll be found not guilty at trial anyway.
Frankly I don't see why they're bothering with trying Michael Jackson. There could be videotape, a signed, and notarized confession and he'd still get off. Same with Blake, same with OJ, et al.

It is very hard for a jury to convict a defendant of murder on circumstancial evidence.
A woman I loved was murdered by her estranged husband. It was obvious he was guilty. The jury deadlocked because there was no hard evidence and he got off scot free.

I am glad that he wasn't convicted, the evidence was shaky and well she was a sleaze-ball and many peopel wanted her gone and probably were standing inline by the car to kill her. You play...sometimes you pay.
