    Dag, Zev!

My dad had a ham radio when I was a kid in the 70's/80's.

I didn't think they were still around.

    Wow, Zev!

What's the height on that? We used to be really heavy into CB's here a number of years ago and had a moonraker (?) on three extensions. What a chore that was to put up!

About this time of year, we encountered so much skip that we couldn't copy people on our road! I loved talking to those folks with the southern accents. I also liked taking long trips and joking around with people on the highway on the mobile.

I only knew one person who had a Ham, but I wasn't interested in getting into something like that at the time---it looked far too confusing!

    Enjoy your new toy!

    hugs,

    Annie

That`s quite the tower, Zev. Congrats.

It takes a lot of study to get your ham license, you gotta really love it. Good on ya. My cousin was a ham operator, we always had a lot of fun over there. CQ CQ!!! ;)

I`m glad I don`t have to compete with that there tower to talk on my poor little cell phone, though! hahaha

Have you skipped far?? Any cool friends in distant places?

Yaa zev. That is one large vertical antena.

Get any gripes from neighbors re. their tv's ?

I still have my 10 meter ham and am going through the books to update on the tests.

I have a tuneable YESU transciever all solid state for all except the final drive and embedded liniar amplifier. They are using the old tube type system.

I use it only for reception and it has one hell of a receiver.

I suppose I could get the transmitter fixed and use it, but it would be costly.

Know any ways around that ?
