I understood that one of the changes would be that Df'ing and Da'ing would become indistinguishable at the time of announcement. Do the terms still appear in the book? Is there a distinction made?

a brief announcement is made to the congregation, stating: "[ Name of person] is no longer one of Jehovahs' Witnesses."

Compare that with what Jehovah says in the Bible,

(Isaiah 43:10-11)
10 "YOU are my witnesses," is the utterance of Jehovah,
"even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may
know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that
I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and
after me there continued to be none. 11 I am Jehovah,
and besides me there is no savior."

Right here Jehovah determines who are his Witnesses, not the congregations.

The congregation has no right to announce that a particular person is "no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses."

WAIT! That would mean that The WTBTS are No Longer Jehovah's Witnesses! So everyone must stop associating with them or THEY will No Longer Be Jehovah's Witnesses, too! Bwa haha ha hah aha hahah!!!!!! ha!

I hate to rain on your parade, Integ, but this quote is not new; the 1983 (previous) version of the book had the exact same thing almost word for word, on page 151.

1914 is stressed in the new book so it looks like no change from that doctrine for quite a long time!
