Did You Feel Superior To Those People Who Only Ever Came To The Memorial?

Of course it was easy to tell those who never came to any meetings except for the memorial. That part was human nature.

But I never felt superior to them, or non JW's either. I was hated being a witness, and certainly was never proud of my association with the WTS.

Not superior, just a little bemused . i used to say that if ever I stopped being a witness i would not attend odd meetings

Do they think they won't die at Armageddon...just coming to the Memorial?

That was my thought entirely. Now I realise why they come. It has nothing to do with God, nothing to do with 'insurance against Armageddon' . It has only to do with family , friends and a responsibility to ones nearest and dearest... the things we do to keep them happy.

BTW , Perhaps a sneaking curiosity to see who is still there, how the kids in the congo have grown and what is going on.

New Worldly Translation - too funny! And too true!

I always wondered what they were doing at the hall when they didn't have to be there. Lucky so and so's!

No one, meaning elders, has been to invite us over the last 3/4 years of fading. Even this year, not a whisper of an invitation!

My mum asked if she could take the little children to the memorial and I told her they were too young to attend cult meetings. She asked about the older ones and I told her they'd got more sense. She nearly had a fit, but she'll get over it.

Now, I'm beginning to feel superior to those who ever go to the memorial!

Funny thing is, I remember when the attendances at the memorial at our hall used to be 220 plus. Yet I was hearing what a wonderful attendance they had in having 172 go!! Crazy dub logic I suppose.

    You bet Englishman,

Especially cause I got to sit up front with all the "appointed men" and I got to pass the bread & wine around. Who could ever be more superior? Man, I was so superior than any of those "Memorialites. I mean just look at the heavy responsibilty I had.

i never felt superior to them.. mostly the ones that came to memorials were adult children of multi generation witness parents. i thought it was nice of them to come for their parents. the elderly witnesses would be so tickled to see them and their kids.the only witnesses that were snotty to them were pioneers and elders. the rest of the congregation was welcoming and enjoyed seeing them. of course this was a small long time congregation..same people all the time. its probably different in bigger halls.
