Great minds think alike. I have to admit that this crossed my mind too this year. Probably because i overheard somebody say how, in their church , the Sunday celebration was a joyous one recalling the ressurrection . Whats wrong with that?

I bet it has more to do with the determination to be no part of "Babylon the Great" . If they do it then the dubs will not do it .

Eyebrow. Is Wallmart open on Easter Sunday in Texas? Around here everything is closed

Why do we celebrate his death, and not his birth? He couldnt have died for us, if he was never born! So that day seems like it should be more important than any of them.

He could have deviated, he could have rebelled or decided not to go through with the sacrifice. So a sinless death was important to the idea of ransom atonement.

Very true I guess. But still, why not celebrate his birth also? Didnt they come bearing gifts for him when he was born? Im a little rusty.

Do JW's believe in the resurrection in the same way as Christians do? I thought they believed he turned into gas or something. I'm not convinced they believe he rose from the dead, Am I confused about this??

A JW told me he was annihilated after his death, but rose as a spirit which is the recreated angel Michael. So they don't believe in the resurrection - perhaps that's why they don't celerate it. Do they use the word but give it a different meaning?

Luke 24:36-43 says "...the disciples supposed they had seen a spirit......." Jesus replied " Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have."

I think they teach that the "Son of God" and "Jesus Christ" are not the same thing, person?
