Will married partners reunite at resurrection? And what does that imply.

CV, greetings and welcome. My understanding is that all the information in the NT, applies to the 'up-stairs' class.

I prefer to play golf on 'real' grass, thanks.

It's one thing to say the wedding vow is ended with the death of one spouse. This is part of the contract of marrige, if you die, you can no longer fulfill your end of the bargin and the union is no longer valid even if one or the other is rezed. To death do us part.

The problem with dubs is they say there will be no marrige in the earthly rez. Not to the old spouse, not to anyone. That is a ridiculi position, and most dubs know it. They are just waiting on Jehovah to give some new light.

There will never be new light on this because it can never be proven false by observence. Thats the only reason we ever get new light is if old light is proved false by the passing of some observable event. Like 1975 came and went, uhoh we need new light.

Postate: "Jesus didnt start reigning in 1914,"

    Dub: "OH YA prove it,"

Postate: "Well since you say it was invisible there is no way to disprove by nonobservence"

Dub: "Exactly so he must have started reigning in 1914" See there will never be new light on 1914

Since no one will ever observe whether a resurrected person marries, there will never be the need to change policy on this, thus no new light.

Haha, now there's a thought. Jesus said there would be no marriage in the resurrection. Jesus didn't say there wouldn't be any sex.

interesting point that ip-sec makes....extend that to all the sisters that are waiting till after armageddon to get married as if there will be a plethora of available brothers then...well there wont...there will be less...many available now may not survive armageddon and none resurrected will be allowed to marry...any children born will be male and female and will grow up and marry each other....unless j. controls the birth rate so that all armageddon survivors are teamed up with another survivor or one born after armageddon.....either way only a very small percentage of earths inhabitants will be married and that could lead to cliques and a superior attitude

Thanx Golf, Hope I'll be a Jedi Master one of these days too ;)
I love these cute labels this forum assigns

Which is also a good point for discussion one of these days i.e. if Star Wars makes greater positive impact on individuals than WT org.
    Now that's a thought

I have another question. Suppose a married witness couple dies in a car accident, would they be allowed to renew their marriage vows in the new order?

Weather or not they were asexual beings is besides the point since marriage is more about cohabitation than anything else. The Jehovah's Witness position suggests that such a couple would either lack the free will or God's approval to continue their husband/wife relationship.

Another question, If a Jehovah's Witness family dies in a car crash who will look after the resurected kids if the father and mother aren't allowed to reunite? Will this wonderful earthly paradise be filled with orphans?

Of course all of these questions assume that the current line of WTBS dogma is true.

It's pretty clear from Jesus' words that married people who die "are neither married nor given in marriage".............

Yet I've heard on more than a few occasions elders referring to the scripture in Psalms.......about "satisfying the desire of every living thing", and using this to imply they could look forward to being reunited with their mate.

This was even presented at a district convention, where the elder was being interviewed on the platform, as he had lost his wife some months before.

With the strict rules on what is presented from the platform adhering to scriptural guidelines, I was very surprised they allowed that.
