He's like a Timex watch, just keeps on ticking somehow.

I thought you were gonna say cheap and plastic... but then I remembered that's Pamela Anderson. I always get those two mixed up.

Shouldn't Ringo Starr be the next pope? They've had John, Paul.. George is dead.. Ringo's next!

Actually I kinda like having a religious leader that can't speak. I hope he lives another hundred years.

yes and no: I think he is a remarkable man but I am not personal interested in his well beeing...

It was ca. 40 years ago, I heard some people saying: "The Papa of Italy is dead" (don't know which one). I think this particular one is more humane then his predecessors..he will be mourned for by millions.

I just read that they put the pope on a feeding tube.

I think they should Terri Schiavo him. He's got to be braindead, some of the stuff that went on during his watch.

I totally agree. I know a lot of people hate the Catholic Church. I fully understand the reasons why.

However, this pope has been more humane and more understanding of current affairs than any in the past. From humble beginnings in Poland to Pope is amazing. I also think he is a highly intelligent man. Regarless of his religious basis he has been a good leader.... for what the church stands for. He has also cannonized more than any other pope. I appreciate the cannonization of (Juan Pablo - name is probably wrong) in Mexico, who the Vigin of Guadalupe appeared to several times, and blessed his family with healing. This is the first cannonization of anyone in the americas.

That he continues on like a timex, or the eveready bunny is too funny! Like Mother Teresa who lived for poverty as the ultimate sacrifice, so the Pope lives in suffering and pushes his will to serve.

    Golf,
Actually the Pope is not in favor of starving Terri Schiavo to death. I agree with him.

ok so I was trapped in borgworld for the longest and not really familiar with the pope...but from the news clips I've seen...it does look like he's on his last leg....

and fairchild, just an inquiring mind wanting to know, what's with the empty picture frames.....does that mean something..or was it just something that was done in the whitepope house???

If the Pope is the closer man to God, and is in such deplorable condition, what the heck can be expected from the rest of us humans far removed from the Almighty?

I think of the Pope of any leader of any other religion the same way I think of the GB of the JWs. Just mere mortal, imperfect men taking care of a religious business.
