(1 Cor 13:8 ASV) Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall be done away; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall be done away. Can someone tell me when knowledge has ceased??

    I didn't think so!

So why use THIS verse to prove that 'tongues' have ceased??

(1 Cor 13:9-10 ASV) For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; but when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away.

The 'perfect' has yet to come - it is still in the future! Sad and Lonely,

When I was very young I attended the Pentecostal Church of God. One of my uncles was the Pastor. I heard of lot of speaking in tongues and saw lots of holy rolling. No one ever had a clue what those speaking in tongues were saying.

My nephew goes to some church where they speak in tongues, do a lot shouting and raising their hands. My sister said that when she went to her son's church, she almost started laughing at them. ( I know I would of.) haa

I asked my nephew if he knew what he was saying and he said, 'No, but it is the holy spirit which enters into me and I just start speaking.'

Personally, I don't care what he does or how he claims to be closer to God. As long as he doesn't try to preach to me or ask me to go with him.
