Have you walked a mile in Gaila's shoes Ed. How could you possibly say she needs to take responsibilty. She was mislead like so many thousands and thousands who have been and left this notorious organization.

They make the claim that they are ambassotors of Christ, that they will sit at the right hand of Jesus Christ. They claim to be Christ's brothers.

Can you for one minute believe that they and they alone are cupable to God for what atrocities they have committed in the name of the Father and his son Christ.?

The story or rather life of Gaila's reflects many persons lives in the Organization and after reading that, are we not affected by her pain? The responsiblity is that of the organization not the witnesses.

We beacme the Master puppeteer's puppets on strings and so how can you blame any one of us for feeling like we do?

Yes we need to forgive those who tresspass against us, however when something is done delibrately to destroy us, I think that we are justified in feeling used. Are you saying that those who commit suicide or are sexually molested by monsters in the congregation or those who 's lives have been shattered because of the rule of disfellowshipping are responsible for thiss. I DON"T THINK SO>

Let me just offer one more tiny voice in sympathy and support of Gaila and all the other Gailas in the world, and they are legion. I strongly condemn Eduardo's heartless, dub-soaked line of thinking, which is just as judgmental and the organization he seeks to defend.

Oroborus, i also agree with Dansk and Orangefatcat that you are coming down too hard on poor Gaila, her emotional world was horribly brutalised by the WTS and you are showing no sympathy to her. How can people who made a mistake out of sheer ignorance or naivity be personally responsible for it in the true sense?

Dansk, orangefatcat, greendawn and willyoman have brought up good points. "Slick" is the right word. Many -if not all- people who have fallen for what seemed to be 'the truth', have done this in good faith, convinced that they were doing the only right thing a human being should do. When you raise your children in the JW religion because you are convinced that such is their only chance to be saved and live forever on a paradise earth, and then you come to find out that you have been misled, I honestly don't think that you are to blame. When you meet a seemingly kind person whom you grow devoted to, but then you find out that this person has made false promises to you and becomes abusive, are you to blame? When you are ill and you put your trust in a certain doctor because he was recommended to you, and in spite of his 'treatments' you are not getting better at all, are you to blame?

The WTS has many innocent victims. Are they to blame? I don't think so.

Very powerful letter. It certainly encapsulates my thoughts and feelings as well; replacing my mom for the children though.

I too, hope it was sent to New York Watchtower Society. If not, it should be.

Perhaps if those whom were duped back in the day, had had search engines via the internet, they would have indeed been much more responsible for falling for such crap having not done their homework.

I feel that way TODAY about adults falling for such crap NOW that they DO have the tools and means to do such footwork on a book publishing empire disguised as a loving entity that will destroy their family and foster hatred. Not to mention instill lethal policies to each of its members and that of their innocent children.

Eduardo is being harsh cruel and legalistic.

What about the responsibility of those printing the lies?

Before computers and modern cynicism, most people believed what they saw in a book.

His argument is skewed. Like: "We told you lies, incomplete and misleading information. You chose to believe us." (Like the 17th century quacks selling saspirella to cure VD.)

Listen to Mouthy's excellent account of how they worm their way in.

If there is a God, he does not punish the misled, only the misleaders. The Roman Catholic Church teaches this, more merciful than the WTS.
