by the same reasoning you should probably also become a muslim and a hindu (among a slew of other belief structures), you know...just to be safe.

buddah seems to be the most benevolent of the god's i've seen. you've kinda gotta give it to a religion that teaches that after you really "get it" you won't have any need for the religion anymore.
