Is Jesus God?

i think to each person god is what they choose it to be, their understanding of what it is to be god is what they have created in their head or it's existing beliefs other people created in their heads that a person takes on board, etc etc.
to me jesus is not god, neither is jehovah inc. ...to my mind if there is a god (in the almighty universal creator sense), it's something we humans do not even have a real concept of, certainly not anything spoken about in any holy book.
in a general sense, people can worship whatever they want and make anything their god.

That is exactlly why this world is in the shape it is in! They worship everything but the One and Only True God!

Does the bible prove or disprove whether or not Jesus is God?
Yes, it proves it. And it disproves it. Like so many other doctrinal questions, it's a matter of which verses you read and which ones you explain. The Trinitarians have a nice set of scriptures that make the jesus=god idea seem pretty reasonable. The non-trinitarians have an equally compelling set of verses. Each side reads theirs literally and explains away the other's. The Bible is like that picture of two faces looking at each other, where the empty space between them forms a vase.

Good post, Dave. I like the way you explained that.
To me, Jesus is definitely NOT God. Even when I grew up a catholic, it was the one thing that bothered me. I asked my teachers in school several times, and usually the answer was "You can't understand it because it is a mystery". That answer wasn't good enough for me, and not believing that Jesus is God was something that really attracted me in JWs.
There is the father and there is the son. It seems pretty simple to me.
Of course, that is my personal opinion, and I respect anyone who has a different one.

It's like which is better Ford or Chevy.... Coke or Pepsi
It's the never ending debate!
Maybe people ("christians") should just forget it and start focusing on their so-called leaders TEACHINGS!
Then the world would be a better place (Ghandi)

Does the bible prove or disprove whether or not Jesus is God?
No the Bible claims Jesus is God (or not, according to interpretation). It doesn't prove anything, anymore than the Odyssey proves Poseidon is a god.

This is something I delved into after leaving the JW about a 1 1/2 later. I was astonished to fine that the bible is not clear actually whether he is or isn't. There are some scriptures that seem to suggest he is God then others say Son of God, which leaves ones totally confused. Personally I don't think it makes any difference one way or another. One can believe how every they wish and be right. Of course that is contrary to JW mind set.
