Got out while I was still young enough to have a life, df'd at 17. Only thing that sucked is that my parents had been SOOOO strict that when I got a little taste of freedom I went buck wild and got involved in a lot of risky behavior, thats why I believe it is a mistake to shelter your children too much. I allway s liked the analogy of a spring, if you hold on to it real tight, when you let it go it flies everywhere but if you give it a little more room in your hand and realease it gradually it stays close to your hand. So if you give you kids a little freedom instead of being so strict I think they wont go crazy once their on their own.

I stopped all JW activity on June 12, 1996. My 18th birthday
I attended my last meeting on June 18 of the same year, I had just turned 19. I had mentally been out for about six months before that.
