Could anyone remind me where I can get old watchtowers online? It was on the board recently, but I lost the link. I'm trying to research the shunning policy.
Thanks

Dear Philo
Just go to your local Kingdom Hall, go into the library and take whatever you need.(You have my permission :-) No one will miss them. That's what the "friends" do at the hall I attended. Don't even bother bringing them back. The Literature Servant can get more.

Good advice, I'm sure. Unfortunately few congreagations go back very far with Watchtowers, in this area at least.
Could anybody anybody else advise?

You should find what you're looking for here philo
. http://communities.msn.co.uk/altJehovahsWitnesses&naventryid=111
I've put some of the more important works all together on one page.
You will find:
[1] Russells six volume work - Studies in the Scriptures.
[2] Russells 'posthumous work' - The Finished Mystery.
[3] Tabernacle Shadows of the 'Better Sacrifices' (pdf)
[4] Pastor Russell's Sermons (pdf)
[5] The Photo Drama of Creation - complete!
[6] The entire set of Zion's Watch Tower from 1896 to the 1916!
[7] The current Elders Manual plus add-ons.
Hope that's of some use.

Thank you Nik, that was spot on.

You mean that the congregation library's still have the old "light"?
I figured that they applied a little new "light" and burned them.

To Philo and Nicolau,
thanks for the post.
A great thing will be to have ONLINE the watchtowers,
at least, from 1917 to 1949. I did get a link related
to some work on these w's ..on CD but unfortunately I've
lost it. Does anyone remember it,
Thanks, and greetings, J.C.MacHislopp
The link Nik provided...
http://communities.msn.co.uk/altJehovahsWitnesses&naventryid=111
...has the old watchtowers and I'm enjoying browsing them, but you can't search them globally, so its time consuming. Anyone know if they are online in a better format.
philo
Hi Philo,
That link you provided is great. I was able to download the entire Watchtower articles from 1879 to 1916 in web browser format onto my hard drive (I'll be burning it on CD soon)...then by indexing the entire 72MB download using the Sherlock application (Mac only) I can find (almost) anything that was written in there.
Thanks again,

I guess I should be thanking Nic for that link since he provided it first! :-)
