Thanks Skally, it the same site actually.
Peterstride, how do you download them without clicking each one and saving it? (click-save, click-save, click-save, click-save...)

Hi Philo,
To save a website that I like, I go to FILE > SAVE AS... > choose the Format of WEB ARCHIVE, then under Options tell it to Save 1 Link deep, meaning everything on the main page, plus any links will be automatically saved to your hard drive!
All the above works on my Mac running Internet Explorer 5. I'm not sure if it works the same way on the Wintel platform.

Peter, AHAH! You sly fellow. I'll try that, thanks.

Hey Philo,
I fired up my virtual PC emulator on my Mac running Windows 95 with the latest Internet Explorer for PC, version 5.5...and unfortunately, while it allows you to save the web-page that you're on, it won't let you save any of the links. Meaning, you'd have to save every article manually. :-(
Of course, there is a bright side to this....get a Mac! The cheapest iMacs cost under $1000US, they sport Power PC G3 600Mhz processors (equivalent to around a 2Ghz Pentium 4 in speed), have a built in monitor, and you'll be able to save entire web-sites (and burn them to CD with the built in CD-RW) for future reference. :-)
On the other hand, maybe there's a different way to save web-sites (and to be able to set the level of deepness that you want to save) on PCs with another program. If anyone knows, speak up!

SF,
If I’m looking at this right, this site has every WT article from 1879 thru 1916! Please tell me this will still be there in a few weeks from now when I’m back to my desktop to download the whole thing.
Nicolaou,
Thanks too, for your link. Is someone putting the rest, 1917 thru 1949, online?
When I was disloyally searching the web as an elder, I displayed some of the sites that simply quoted the WT to another Elder. His response was, “this is the worst thing that they could do to us”. HE LASTED SIX MONTHS. He too is out.
Keep us up on additions, please.

Hi again Philo,
If there's no other way to save all the articles in one tidy file, I have a suggestion. If you have ICQ and high speed internet access, I'll transfer a copy of the file (about 72MBs) over to you. Once you have it, you'll be able to open it with Internet Explorer AND read all the articles in the links!
Same goes for you jst2laws, in case the links come down (the other two links on that site are already down...darn it).
Let me know,

Peterstride,
I appreciate the offer. But I'm useing a limited laptop on an unstable teleline at this time. The middle of August I get back to normal. I'll hold my breath till then.
The history of WT teaching is one of its many weaknesses. With the eyes and ears of the loyal Jw's being closed to "godless apostates" I see the Watchtower itself as one of our best tools.

To save web pages one link deep On PC Using Explorer 5.5
(In Explorer's Help File)
To make the current Web page available offline
On the Favorites menu, click Add to Favorites.
Select the Make available offline check box.
To specify a schedule for updating that page, and
how much content to download, click Customize.
Follow the instructions on your screen.
Note
Before you go offline, make sure you have the latest
version of your pages by clicking the Tools menu and
then clicking Synchronize.
Quester
Peterstride, Yup, when I tried it there was no depth option under "save as". I'll follow Quester's instructions for now.
Thanks guys.
