I can only think of a personal sports conspiracy - someone put broken glass in my sack on sports day at the sack race at primary school. My knees still bear the scars - I didnt win, but I didn't stop either!

Just a few weeks ago I watched Ali-Liston II on ESPN Classic, trying my best to see the near-phantom punch that took out Liston in round one.

I can't think of any other "conspiracies" off the top of my head. I do recall a missed chip-shot figgie by (then) Saint's placekicker Morton Andersen a few years back during the final week of the regular season that affected the playoff chances of a couple of teams. That miss looked so bad that I wondered if the fix was in.

Ouch!! That's pretty hardcore Crumpet for a schools sportsday Maybe there was another rejected plan to replace your egg with a whitewashed grenade in the egg and spoon race

Sounds like you had some ultra-competitive classmates. If it's any consolation people always try to nobble the best participant and favourite for the race.

Torvill and Dean lost out on gold at the winter olympics (I think it was 95) to a couple of scrawny Russians who could barely skate!

Here's one I agree with. The officiating in favor of "Big markets" in the NBA like L.A against smaller markets has been abominable. Especially Game 6, 2002, L.A vs. Sacramento.

Here's a letter Ralph Nader wrote about it.

1)The immaculate "deception" of Franco Harris against Oakland (in '74??) playoffs...You NEVER see him actually catch the ball. If that happened today, it would have been reviewed and the Raiders would have won. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

2)Rob Lytle 'NOT" fumbling agianst Oakland in the '78 AFC Championship game. It was "obviously" a fumble, NOBODY can dispute that.

3)Pretty boy Tom Brady's so called "non fumble" in the playoffs against Oakland a few years back.

Oakland has consistently been screwed by the NFL and it's officials who have had it in for Al Davis for over 30 years. And DESPITE everyone working against them..(the officials, the league, et al) they STILL managed to win 3 Superbowls, and appear in 5.

Speaking of Oakland and immaculate deceptions, let's not forget that "Holy Roller" play they had, where they were facing the Chargers. Now that's a conspiracy.
