Help me set up my JW wife: What should I look for in a church?

I would suggest attending any church that offers an Alpha course. You can attend in an informal atmosphere and ask those questions there:

You might ask to see a copy of their articles of faith. Most churches ascribe to some version of the Nicene Creed.

The JW's do not, of course, because of their rejection of the Trinity doctrine. In one fell swoop, they manage to reject 99% of the churches out there, and pretty well hang any possibility that an exiting member would feel comfortable in any other church.

Interestingly, you will not find a similarly condensed version of JW beliefs. A JW must ascribe to ALL current rules and regulations, no matter how minor.

Could you elaborate? What were the distinctions between that church and a kh? What things made it more beneficial, more desireable, more in line with the scriptures?

Well I only went once. They had sung songs that were beautiful and not like the old KH Songs. They had a live band! That was cool. I saw windows!(Preston)!

They used the bible and it was very interesting how the Pastor spoke. He made sense and he talked to the congregation not like a robot and read from the book. It was right before Easter when I had gone. He said Easter is about Jesus and explained how he was just like us. He made Jesus real. I can't explain it. It was very emotional for me. It made you feel good and that God loves you. You did not have the feeling of guilt and being afraid.

I wish you Luck in your Faith Journey.

    ...and one other thing whyamihere...

I appreciate your thoughts, and I know I am going to catch hell from the fellas around here, but you gotta change that picture.

Tooooooo distracting for us faithful, happily married guys who are former hounds.

And the "bad" CYP told me to tell you...

    "nice cans!!"

    Who is CYP?

What is wrong with my Avatar? It's not ME! It's Jessica Simpson!

Fine I will change it! Not happy with changing it but fine. I will put the REAL ME on here I guess. Whatever

Look at how they treat the young, the old, the poor in their congregation.

    What about the Quakers?

CYP is me, bad CYP is the former me. I was just messing with you.

That picture just always gets me whenever I read your posts.

I, like most men, am afflicted. I am just trying real hard to be a good guy.

    BLondie,

I had a feeling you would have something for me. How they treat children and the elderly in what way? What is my contrast to the jw?

    Why,

Yes. But I know that I am going to catch all sorts of hell from the guys now. Not because you are any less lovely, but because your previous picture left less to the imagination.

I hope you aren't mad at me. I was really just trying to make you chuckle.
