Has anyone checked out the differences between these two books? I'm really getting into learning about how Jehovah's name isn't really in the NT and I'm starting to use my KIT. Then I realized, because I forgot, that I had an Emphatic Diaglot produced by the society around 1940s. I am going to begin to look for translation differences.

Ok so I see that the Emphatic Diaglot was produced by Benjamin Wilson in the 1800s. He was a Christadelphian. The society bought the rights to publish the book at some point. Perhaps in the 1940s as that is the publication date. Now they have their own greek interlinear the KIT, and another, the Emphatic Diaglott to back them up on things. That's enough for any regular dub to KNOW they have the truth.
There are some good webpages out there that discuss the differences between the Greek text of these interlinears and the English translation that they come up with. Like, for example, the way that the WTS translates kyrios as Jehovah.

Wilson wasn't actually a Christadelphian, he was a member of The Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith, a Christadelphian breakaway group.

The main difference is that the ED is based on VAT 1209 and the KIT is based on Westcott-Hort.

I'm hoping to review the English text of the current NWT (1985?) and compare that to the text of the Emphatic Diaglot (1942?). To see if there are any textual differences.
I have been especially bothered by the fact that the name Jehovah isn't really in any old Greek manuscripts. And, as brought out on a separate thread that the dubs picked and chose where to insert God's name in the NT based on later Hebrew translations (there is a separate thread about that somewhere here).
I read the Societies information on the divine name a million times. I taught it several times. I feel like a fool for missing this information. So I want to review everything.

I'm very interested in this topic. I always found it odd that Jesus never used Jehovahs name and in translations other than the NWT, Jehovah is never mentioned in the NT. What is the greek word where the name Jehovah is inserted by the NWT? Is it kyrios? What is the literal translation of it?

The two words I've seen so far are kyrios and theos.
I'll look for the other thread and try to post the link here. There is a great website mentioned in the thread that really discusses this in a clear and understable way.
