That's all you WILL SEE, is caprocks, buttes, and canyons. That's all west texas is: the wild west. If that is what you want to see, that is where you will see it! But you have to remember that when you go out there, there is NO PEOPLE! This is a place that there is no cities, towns, water, gas stations, etc. You have to remember that when you go out in West Texas, you are in the wild west, and ou have to live like them. I would suggest that you bring 7 gallons of water, 7 lbs of beef jerkey, and a tent.

Dede, yes there is a waterpark there called Splash Amarillo I believe, There is also an amusement park there too. They have Chuckwagon dinners out there where they take you out by the canyon in a covered wagon and cook steaks and sing western songs. There's all kinds of neat stuff out there that everyone will enjoy.
Country-girl, You know how I love those canyons and mesas, thats all I talked about while we was out there, that and cactus too. After living so many years in this rainforest in East Tennessee, I would love to see some more arid climates-LOL
