So how do I do this & get it right?

  Why Georgia

  Tomorrow I will be mailing my special do not call, come by, or mail our family anything letter to New York.

  I was told I should also send the same letter to all the local congregations we were once affiliated with.

  I did this when we lived at our old address and the letter to the local KH came back returned for having no mailbox.

  So how am I supposed to get the letters to them?

  Any idea's?

  Will it be just as effective if I only send it to NY?

  Also...will they now come out in force trying to get my darling husband because I have done this?

  why bother? You verbally told them to leave you guys alone. Don't jump through their hoops, it only gives them power.

  mail a regestered letter to the kh, brooklyn, and your local police. or even go to your local police and make a complaint. going to the police station and making a filed complaint. is your strongest legal move. tell the cops they have harrassed your family many times. after you asked them not to over and over to leave you alone. they are imposing . one your civil rights, legal rights of liberty, and your rights of freedom of religion etc. you can even try to ask for an order of protection . for them to keep away from you. but this will take time and another knock on your door by them. if you play it right with the police and cry the blues that some elder . his been on your tail over and over . the cops may even go to tell him to back off. don't be nice let these jerks know you know your right's. and it don't cost you a dime. good luck. johnv p.s. make the police report first and mail copies to brooklyn.once they see you filed. they will call the local jackasses. and tell them to forget you ever lived. i only tell you this if you really want to bust their balls before your dog eats them. i understand how jw's can piss you off. but you can piss them off even worse if you want to . it's up to you . be well john

  I must agree with Joy here. [I usually do have to defer to her great level-headedness lol].

  I doubt Brooklyn cares about such things to be honest. It might give you closure, and if it does then why not? But I think a verbal do not call will keep them away!

  You can try a restraining order

  or move houses and don't tell them where you live, find a jw free environment my neibourhood doesn't get jws! we're lucky!

  Or you can do what joy said be nice about it at first and if they persist then get firm with them

  When a jw comes to your door yell out to your husband "Name, get my gun!" That would freak them out!

  Or look at them in the eye and say "I like pointy objects" I don't know if that would scare them away or encourage them to annoy you.

  But you can either get a restraining order or be assertive and tell them to back off or try to freak them out and scare them away!

  Bacicly make it clear that your not interested they will leave you alone eventually. get some pit bull terria dogs on your property and train them to bark at the posty and the jehovahs witness!

  When I sent my 'do not call' letter to the local hell, it also came back due to no mailbox. The one sent to NY came to the local hell, and to the elders. I also have a sign in my window by door- No Soliciting, Religious, youths dumped in suburbs, books sales etc.. thank you- Now nobody bothers us. We used to have quite a bit of book sales as well as the religous types. But, the others here are more experienced with the org, just my two cents. carla

  I agree with Joy.

  But I think a verbal do not call will keep them away!

  Worked for me. Best way to get the point across is to call The Bethel House of Apostates in Crooklyn, NY and inform them utilising a 'mild' manner that the WTBTS needs to hit the highway and drive until the gas tank is empty.

  Verbal stay away will not be proof. If they keep harassing you, proof will be needed to report it to the police. That's where the registered mail receipts come into play. Mail it to an elder's house if the KH doesn't have a mailbox.

  You can't just get a restraining order at your whim. You need to prove you're being harassed. To show preaching is harassment, you need to show you've informed the offenders to stop and they've refused.
