My wife is fine. I'm fine. A little crazy, but fine.
When I married my current wife in 1971, my mother told me it didn't really matter which JW woman I married. They would all be perfect soon anyway. Contrary to some reports we were expecting Armageddon in 1975 per the Society's reports.
This thread is about as close to fluff as you'll ever see me throw up.
Did I mention my wife was scheduled to be perfect by now?

Gary -- In 1966 I was 20 years old, and I wouldn't live to see the age of 30 "in this system of things." Your dear wife would return to full health, and be perfect like everyone alive after 1975. We would have a lot of work to do, but Jehovah would provide. The kids who witnessed children murdered because their parents were not JWs, would somehow smile and play with the lions. We would welcome back loved ones from the dead who were
luckyfortunate enough to die before Armageddon. You're right, "it seemed so doable," and your lovely wife would be perfect by now. Where has the time gone, Gary? Our photos to the left of our words tells the story . . .

I was 22 in 1966 and I was promised GIANT strawberries and perfect women and I'm stuck with prunes . . . and well . . . prunes.

Mmmm...prunes can be good. You only get giant strawberries on soil contaminated by nuclear waste.

Yes, and you would have all the time in the world to do anything your heart desires...just not now! Wait until tomorrow. Be miserable today, for tomorrow will come and be a better day. What b.s. Good post Gary!!

Yeah a lot of us got that promise. Everlasting life in perfection, no illness, due any time now.
This all started for my mom in around 1920's 50 yrs later she died.
Me and my 2 sisters and 1 brother got the same promise.
Both sisters are dead now. Actually stopped talking to me about 14yrs ago.
For me they died 14 yrs ago.
Got an older brother stopped talking to me for the last 14 yrs.
For me he died 14 yrs ago.
But he is still alive and clings to the "I will be petting lions any day now" promise.
Those bastards at the wbts are due a just punishment. I intend to never die until I witness their downfall and I get to laugh hystericaly.
There are millions of people who were told this and they believed it to their death.
How sad.
