    Q. What is the engine that drives a carnal cult like the Watchtower/Jehovah's Witnesses?

    A.the trifecta of the three P's and they are:P OWER + P RESTIGE + P ***Y

No disrespect to woman whom i hold in reverence, but this is the plain truth and it's been the way of the world since the Pharaohs.

Crown 2 CO's some of them single dudes, get paid to lord it over big time.

When you think of what a DO and CO's job is namely to keep the JW in line with the GB and to chastize congregations for low hours and to report(spy) on any deviation from WT rules.

So to paying for thier up keep and service is the same as,, when someone starts hitting you in the head with a stick and ordering you around and then you start to pay for him to keep doing it. Same thing.

So it would seem that they aren't getting enough $$$ though the worldwide work donation box. So should the average JW deposit $8.50 less into the the worldwide work box and put that 48.50 toward the CO fund. That way the average JW won't be out any more $$ than he normally would be.

Here here to all comments so far. EIGHT DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS??? WTF kind of math is that? They must have formulas that show how these calls for money usually work out. A certain percent will give $0, another group will give EXACTLY $8.50, and another group will give enough for 5-10 people who are part of group one and group 3 knows it.

I'm sure there is a new floodlight of light, but all the time I was in the dark we were taught that if they ever started asking for money, they will have lost jehovah's blessing. point final, period, eos, non-negotiable,just like the rest of BtG............. "my yoke is kindly and my load is light"

Hey, just a thought but perhaps some elders may suggest a much lower sum as a first resolution. They could explain to the friends how low they are on funds and that the WT is just making a suggestion and in harmony with Jesus Words about the widows mite that God would be just as happy with the smaller amount if it is given with the right motive and that motive is far more important that quantity. He he he

It will be interesting to see, perhaps we'll be able to tell with upcoming WTs or KMs, if this additional sum slowed down the donations to the Worldwide work. I for one am not putting in an extra 8 or 8.50 per publisher in my house for this. Let the COs get jobs. Let them work part-time. Aren't we always saying (dubs that is) that we're glad Jesus was one of us so he know how hard we have it?!? Well, then the COs and DOs should be one of us too.

    I wonder.

If this just might be the extra bundle of weight, that breaks the donkeys back.

I would not be surprised to see lots of jw's vote with their money and then with their feet.

This seems like the action of a corporation who is desperate. When their product is failing and their customers are dwindeling down and the income is following in the same downward direction.

I can recall my thoughts when I was an active jw and at that time I would look at this and get angry.

Then I would not donate a dollar more than the 4 or 5 $ that I usually put in the box "per month".

    I was a cheap donner.

Not everyone will donate the recommended amount, but still they might pocket another $1 million or $ 1.5 million. After all there is paperwork and administration fees ;)

True. But I'm willing to bet that their will be quite a few that contribute more and many congregations that will want to send more in order to show the Society how "spiritually strong" they are.
