I Love and Hate my Controlling Mother!

  I hate my Mom from keeping me away from my Dad's side of the family!

  I have a JW mother like that!

  Last August I finally went to a family reunion and met everyone on my father's side of the family after a lifetimke without them. I realize why she did what she did: she's insane! They pretty much confirmed all of the things I put together myself. They were reluctant to say anything bad about her until I sat one of my uncles down and gave him my perception of life with her. He spilled the beans and told me things that just made me shake my head...this woman who has yet to come to grips with her abuse...but I digress.

  Situations like yours can drive me mad...but in time and effort, I believe we can overcome the damage these narcissistic controllers put on us. Hang in there.

  I guess it just hurts to know that I had to hide the fact I did love them. Yeah he was crazy and sometimes mean but he loved me. He hugged and kissed and said that he loved me. My Grandmother as well. I never got that from the other set of Grand Parents. I had one set of loving grandparents that I was not allowed to love.

  I told my Grandmother about my Mom. I said that I loved her but I wasn't allowed to show it. I saw the sadness in her eyes. It was like when she came over after I was married and saw my wedding dress. I hate to hurt her. I just want them all to know I love them and I don't want to hide the fact I love them all.
