I think it was showtime channel did a spoof called the sharktank redemption. What can i say? Shawshank is one of the best movies of our time, so a good spoof is in order. Highly recommend seeing this spoof and the best part is its like Shawshank you can watch it several times and each time pick up more stuff. You will laugh your butt off.

One of the best films ever made in my opinion. There were a number of analogies to the JW experience. It reminds me of how many people are too afraid to leave the WT when they know it's the right thing to do. They've been institutionalized like the characters in the film.

The book ends with Red opening the envelope left by Andy in his hotel room and weeping when he sees the money in there that Andy left for him and he plans to sneak across the border. I was so glad the director of the film added the end sequence where it shows that Red actually made it and reunited with Andy in Mexico. So moving.

The story is by Stephen King, oddly enough, from his book of novellas "Different Seasons" and is called "Rita Heyworth & The Shawshank Redemption."

I hope I can make it across the border...

I hope to see my friend and shake his hand...

I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams...

    I hope.

Awesome film, and the book is even better.

I wanna go back to Zihuatanejo. Beautiful small city on the Pacific coast of Mexico, about 120 miles N of Aculpulco.

dont think the lyric sheet photo worked ..so will just write them out

i wanna know what gave you the right

and i wanna know who gave you the right

and i wanna see perfect justice at work

and i want you to feel just how much it hurt

    cos first you hate it

then you get used to it

    institutionalised

then you come to depend on it

    first you hate it

then you learn to live with it

    then you realise

that you cant live without it

cos then they set you free ...and then you die

    faith ...hope ...and charity

faith hope charity and of these three

the worst of these is hope ..time and again and again and again

hope does not spring eternal.. hope can drive a man insane

    cos first you hate it......etc

    faith... hope... and charity

and i cant stand me now... and i cant stand me now

and i just cant get rid of these voices in my head

and i cant stand me now... and you cant stand me now

and i just cant get rid of these voices in my head

and i cant stand me you cant stand me now

and i just cant get rid of these voices in my head

and i just cant get rid of these voices in my head

and i just cant get rid of these voices in my head

and i just cant get rid of these voices in my head

Completely agree. awesome awesome movie and terrific ending. I just bought the special edition on DVD. To think they almost ended the movie at the point at which Red was driving away on the bus.

I remember when Different Seasons went to paperback, I was in the 10th grade and I remember reading that book when I should have been paying attention in class, lol. I use to always read Stephen King when I was in high school but could never afford them when they came in hardback. I had to wait until they came in paperback.
