    EvilForce - That is awesome! It does really go to show that there is no spiritual appointment as they claim.

    The PO I study with seemed so proud that high ranking british JWs go to Buckingham Palace and the like for focus groups with politicians and other religious leaders. He also mentioned they talk to Jimmy Carter, Hilary Clinton etc who do good things to help witnesses abroad. Is this a shift in policy? I got the impression he knew I knew about their UN association and he was trying to head me off at the pass!

    American (true) JWs would never do such a thing.

    "EvilForce - That is awesome! It does really go to show that there is no spiritual appointment as they claim." Either that, or, as I prefer to think, what EF and his lovers were up to is A-Okay with God...Ah heck-we're both right...Shoshana

    and do you remember how they explained away the obvious fact that some were appointed wrongly

    let me remind you

    its that they qualified at the time of their appointment

    so when was that exactly then....at the moment the elders decided in a pre-co visit meeting...at the moment the co approved it...at the moment a branch rubber stamped it...or at the moment a bro was asked if there was any reason why he shouldnt be appointed (and then lied)..or at the moment it was annonced to the cong

    seems to me in the case of evil boyfs it must be the moment of announcement since that was the only time that they were definately not banging being banged or lying their well banged tushes off

    I also do not miss being an elder. It was a lot of work and wasted time (Elders meetings). Since there is ?NO? money received for being an elder a person does it for either ego gratification or really does want to help others. I suspect that ego gratification is about 80%.

    Elder's meetings were the biggest waste of time. It was the Boy's Club and everyone had a license to gossip and slander because after all, they were elders.

    It's more like they are appointed by hold s**t, what a bunch of it. I use to be a MS and was also told I was appointed by holy spirit(s). When we moved and being out harrassing the neighbor hood with our bags full of manure, was told by the book study conductor that they wanted me to get my hours up so I could qualify for being a MS again. I almost laughed about it, so I told him that i didn't know that the holy spirit was checking monthly time sheets, and he got all flustered about it and said just get your hours up we need your help.

    Well of course feeling spiritual and all i lowered the amount of hours of field harrassment instead of raising them. Not long afterward, they wanted me to enjoy the priviledge of playing the music tapes. I told them no thanks, i didn't like the music and didnt want to be responsible for playing such, and that I hardly considered it a priviledge it was in league with handling the microphones for crying out loud. When told this the elder went all speechless he couldn't believe I would turn down this "privildege from God". They are so full of it, that they cant see from the manure in their eyes, because it all smells and looks like s**t.

    It just gives them more busy work to do anyway. Never understood why anyone would want to be an elder. Less time for yourself. Less time to think for yourself. Free clergy for the WTBS. I'm going to puke now.
